RE: tire pressure for towing 2008 dutchmen colorao FW

The tires on the FW are Maxis Radial M8008 load ramge E, ST 235/80R11, 80 psi, 01/10. What should the tIre pressure be in the tires?
80 PSI with a good quality calibrated made in the USA tire pressure gauge.

RE: Rotating tires on a dually

I've never rotated the rear's on any of our DRW trucks dating back to 1996. I swap the front's side to side at 10K when I change the filters. That'll do.
Congrat's on yer new truck!!! Ya got good taste in trucks.

RE: Is this a can of worms?

What do you think?
I buy 1 ton's to avoid being concerned about towing issues concerning what we tow.
Last week I saw a 2013 Ford 1/2 ton truck on a dealers lot that listed for $55K+. A 1/2 ton!!!:E Anybody pay's close to that kind of $'s for a 1/2 ton should get exactly what they deserve; A $50K pine straw hauler 2X4 pickerupper grocery getter soccer momma/daddy gasser.
Remember...you asked. JMHO.

RE: Parking on Concrete

FWIW: I park our 5'er on pressure treated 2 X 12's and cover all 4 tires religiously even though where our 5'er is parked at our house it's in very minimal direct sunlight. I'd read years ago about the supposedly damaging properties of concrete on long term stored tires. I've only ever had one blow out and that one was my fault.

RE: First RV for Retired Couple

I'm not very handy
First welcome to the forum. Second, all RV's are hobbies. It doesn't matter if you spend $5K or $2M, there's no perfect RV and they all break. It's the price we pay for having fun. Along with the RV you buy, regardless of what it is, you'll need a large wallet, a well stocked tool box, a large wallet, the ability to use everything in it, a large wallet, a large bottle of aspirin, a large wallet, a huge level of patience, and a large wallet. Did I mention needing a large wallet? Then get out there with the rest of us, hit the road, and break something.

RE: 2005 Fleetwood Discovery issues

Doesn't matter if you spend $5K or $2M+ on an RV, they're all just hobbies. Keep'em maintained, fix'em when they break, keep on truckin and just consider it the cost of having fun. Or, sell it and stay home. As for me, I'm fixin it and move'n on.

RE: diesel motorhome tires

My Michelin tires are 7 years old with only 40,000 miles on them. they are developing small cracks along the sidewalls between the rim and the Michelin name on the tire.
Should I be concerned?
Yer darn right you need to be concerned. Replace those suckers ASAP!!!

RE: 3/4 ton vs 1 ton ride

We love the ride of our GMC (See Sig). Our Dodge (See Sig) isn't quite as nice but it's tolerable. Both ride far better than our previous 3/4 ton Ford trucks.

RE: Opinion on RV Parks near Asheville North Carolina

Rutledge Lake is very nice but the CG and sites are very tight. Don't know a thing about the other two. We usually stay at Bear Creek when we're in Asheville. IMHO: Bear Creek is overpriced but convenient and nice enough we pay it and stay there anyway.

RE: $40,000 question

It's a nobel idea but if my wife went and bought me a truck, I'd call the lawyer's after first throwing the royal fit of the century. There's no way she'd order the exact same truck I would, thereby wasting $40K when I dumped the truck. JMHO.

RE: Adding chip for engine performance?

FWIW: Two camping buddies chipped their 6.0's with no other upgrades and both eventually blew up with less than 100K on them. IMHO: If you plan to keep this truck long term, spend your money to fix the obvious weak points on the 6.0 starting with the EGR cooler. You can check the Ford forums or any diesel truck magazine to determine what your 6.0 will require upgrading to avoid issues. But even after upgrading, if it were me, I still wouldn't chip the 6.0 without doing a complete engine and tranny rebuild. If you plan to keep your 6.0, spending the $12K to rebuild the engine will give you a high mileage dependable 6.0 that shouldn't leave you stranded.

RE: First tow, first trip with new TT (with pics)

Nice rig and pic's. Thanks for sharing. Missy looks quite content.
You stated that next year you hope to upgrade to at least a 3/4 ton truck. I can save you some money. Take it from someone who started out just like you did and went down the 1/2, 3/4, & 1 ton truck route. Skip the 3/4 ton truck and go straight to the 1 ton DRW CC diesel. It only costs a skosh more to go 1st class the first time. Save the expense and your hard earned money of buying a 3/4 ton truck only to discover years down the road you don't have enough truck and you end up buying a 1 ton anyhow. Good luck.
