RE: Putting away the awning by myself

our rockwood hw 276 has a velcro strap in the middle also.but i do like the clamp idea, i use clamps to hold up a light tarp to side or front of awning if raining and we are out side.(careful of wind)

RE: Confederation Park Campground,Hamilton..Closing

conservation areas are more city run i think. valens is a nice conservation area, with private sites, beach, trails etc. also only about 45 mins from confederation park

RE: Just Bought a New Pop-up -- Questions!

we have a rockwood hw 276 (3500#) and it a tight squeeze to get it into its half of the garage.i usually back it up close unhitch and push it the rest of the way into the garage. sometimes need dw help to get over the edge into garage.with the little wheel pups are pretty easy to move on smooth pavement.
enjoy

RE: can 1 set it up?

check lists are great! remember take your time, don't get frustrated, relax.the hardest part of doing by yourself is hooking the hitch when its time to go.go slow and check lots of times.

awning poles

hello all;
was wondering which method you use to secure awning poles.
do you use the brackets on the side of the trailer or secure them to the ground? if possible can you tell me why?
thanks
we have a rockwood hw276 pup

RE: Toronto, Canada

the drive to Toronto usually takes longer due to traffic(rush hour starts at 7 and ends at 10 am)however there is plenty to do in the niagara region.old forts in niagara on the lake and fort erie.also one in new york.tons of stuff in niagara falls google niagara tourism. i would recommend the state parks over the parks in niagara falls for seclusion etc.
enjoy your trip.

RE: how to camp in canada?

we usually cross the border 1 time each month, with 2 kids 5,8. we don't need passports yet and havent used them.once we were pulled over going to the u.s.
on a random check,we had a full car,and the inspectors were very understanding
and quick to do their jobs.we were on our way in under 10 minutes.once the border guards (both sides)relize tht you can have friends that live in america, and how they became friends, there are usually no problems.just remember declare what you are bringing(both ways) and they are just doing their jobs, keeping us safe!!!!

RE: Viking vs. Rockwood

the question is which one you like the best.
2000 over the life of the trailer before you sell say 10 years,
you may as well have the features and floor plan you really like.
dont be frustrated in the future to save some money now that can be
spread out over the life of the trailer.

RE: Price of motels vs. camping

dont forget that when you are driving to your hotel without your pup you are still adding costs to your trip as you are when towing. also we would spend over a grand or more (when we went to cape cod) renting cottages once each year. i think that would cover 2 and 1/2 weeks in a camp ground. also i think that in 8 years i can sell my 08 rockwood for 1/2 of what we paid. p.s.
being out in nature is worth more than being inside anyday.
