RE: Converting from Dish to DirecTV in MH

Dont think they will work as I have no experience with the genie set up ?? If it were me I would go with the HR24 so that in the future you could go HD and have a PVR - or the D11 sd receiver( could be a D12-not sure of model)just for the rv Don

RE: Converting from Dish to DirecTV in MH

You do not need a new LNB -the one you have works for SD on both direct & dish Just get new receiver and now you will aim at 101 instead of 119 sat-19º to the east of where you use to aim & a little different elevation Don Ps I have a buddy who has a winter home in Congress AZ

RE: DirecTV Receiver and Dish Help needed

You may need a B- band converter between the receiver and the dish. Not required for SWM. When I converted my non SWM HD to SWM I had to remove them. He does not need the B Band converter as he can only get SD from his Single LNB on 101 He does not need the power inserter for this non swim set up

RE: DirecTV Receiver and Dish Help needed

I would say that you are not getting the dish type set up correctly You have to set switch type (multiswitch ) first -then select 18" dish otherwise it is not getting out of the swim setup the cheep signal meter will not work on a swim set up! some times it is hard to get it out of the swim setup-it does it automatically the other way around when connected to a swim lnb setup from non swim let us know how you make out??

RE: 60 cm shaw elliptical sat. dish

"With all of that said, you can't do any harm by giving it a try. You will first have to craft a mounting device as I don't believe they are the same. If you give it a try, let us know how it comes out. " X2

RE: SL5 ELEVATION Issue/Question

I stand by my original statement. SL3 settings SL5 settings The DirecTv 3 LNB reading you have is for a DirecTV Phase III dish, an older dish which sees satellites at 101, 110, and 119. A Phase III dish points differently from an SL3 or SL5 because it points at a satellite at 110 degrees. An SL3 dish sees 99, 101, and 103. An SL5 sees 99, 101, 103, 110 and 119. Both an SL3 and an SL5 point at the same satellite: 101 and point in identical locations - at 101. I NOW stand by my original post - compare apples with apples?? Don

RE: Is there such a thing as a HD portable dish for Direct TV

King controls made a VuQube 2000 which we have and it will receive HD programing from the 101 and 119 satellite. We love our VuQube and I think there are still a few out there on the market. Not sure why they discontinued this model, so easy to use and set up and only takes about 2 minuets to lock on to satellites and receive full programming, We always camp around alot of trees so having the portable for us works well............ There are no HD channels on 101 or 119 HD now days is on 97 &103 which requires a different LNB

RE: Bell's New coverage Map

Gee, don't I even get credit for building the map? Thanks for posting. We tried to get it in Conneticut three weeks ago with no joy. We are now in Palm Springs with expected results. We made the shut down call last week. Looking into options now. It sounds like Star Choice will be doing the same in a few years so thats out. Maybe Dish but not sure how far their coverage goes into Canada. Just for your info I have gotten both Direct & dish network from your Swanlake Rec Resort in Vernon with no problem- Don

RE: Mice

Read this in todays news http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/story/2012/10/26/mb-hantavirus-121026.html?cmp=rss In this province if you get mice in trailer or motorhome it is written off by insurance-no longer safe to live in! FWIW Don
