RE: Upgrade WDH?

Yes,
The dual cam system works very well once you have it set up correctly and dialed in...but, you still need to get the proper size bars for your rig.
Again, I think 750's might be too light.

RE: Tire Choices

I would not go with any of those (my opinion).
With what is out there now in an ST tire, I would go with Maxxis 8008.
Your dealer can order them...Discount Tire will or you can order them on line and have them installed by any tire outfit.
Most dealers want to sell what they have in stock. If you do go with any of the above, check the manufacturer date code. Get fresh tires.

RE: Cold vs. hot tire pressure

Interesting that the only useful answer (so far) came from another TC owner.
Maybe because we have everything riding on 4 or 6 wheels.
My answer above was to fill them cold in the morning and get on down the road.
... just wondering???.. why that is not a "useful answer" (even though I am not a TC owner.

RE: how much ice in black tank to clean sensor?

This will illustrate why ice is not really going to "clean" your sensors.
Sensors are placed at different levels on the tank. Doubt that a bag or two of ice is going to bump against and clean them all. Ice floats so it is only going to clean the sensor at whatever level the water in the tank is at..

RE: Cold vs. hot tire pressure

Too much technology.
Keep it simple. Fill cold in the morning and get on down the road.
Don't worry about outside temp during the day or altitude during the day, or what side the sun is shinning on or how heavy your dog is.
RV'ing is suppose to be somewhat relaxing.

RE: Upgrade WDH?

That's the old style Dual Cam...
But, I would want heavier bars. Even at dry weight (which is meaningless) you will have around 700 lbs of tongue weight.
Realistically, you are looking at about 800 lbs of tongue weight.
Only way to know for sure is load your rig trip ready and hit the scales.

RE: What TV for 6000lbs?

Welcome to the Forum..from experience, buy a truck that will tow this trailer and your NEXT one.
There will undoubtedly be a 'next' one and it will be bigger and heavier.

Well, since you are new to Oregon...first trip probably should be to wander up and down the Oregon Coast.
It's a must do RV destination.

RE: Performance Chips for GMC

Chuckle all you want, but it is not rhetoric, here it is from the Federal Trade Commission.. Whether it is called the Moss-Magnuson Act or not, it is not legal for a dealer to refuse warranty work, unless an after market product causes damage to a warranted part....then they "may have" the "right" to refuse warranty service.

Gemstone
Fair or not...you and I are little guys. GM, Ford, are VERY big guys and they have buildings full of lawyers. Do you? Are you willing to spend the money and time on a long drawn out fight..
My bet is that they would wear you down and win..."Warranty claim denied."

RE: Testing Carbon Monoxide Detector

Carbon Monoxide test kits are available. I have also heard that lighting a match, blowing it out and then holding it near the unit will trigger an alarm as a test...

RE: ST or LT tires?

Wow..are you saying that your 19,000 lb. trailer came with ST tires? I guess they can get away with it because it has 3 axles and also some of the weight goes on your truck.
But,.... I still would not run any ST tires on a rig that heavy.

RE: Performance Chips for GMC

GoPackGo you are right on the money. I always get a chuckle when the arm chair lawyers chime in with the Moss Magnuson - "they have to prove that...bla, bla, bla," rhetoric.
My feeling is that IF you think you absolutely must program/chip your engine...wait until it's out of warranty..
Once out of warranty it's completely your truck - not partly theirs.

Banks do the same thing. Offer perks and higher savings interest rates to NEW customers..long time existing customers don't get the same perks and are getting lower savings rates.

RE: Car Enthusiasts ....

Great cars...my sister has one. I love driving it... but it's really expensive to have ANY work done on it.
Also, check the availability of qualified shops and techs in your area. You may have to drive a long way to find someone that can "really" work on it.

RE: Performance Chips for GMC

The big "gotcha" you might have to worry about is that chipping your 2012 truck may void your warranty.
Also, you will see no mileage gains.
Unless you really know what you are doing (being a gearhead), I'd skip this idea.
My advice. If your truck isn't doing the job, maybe consider a different truck.

RE: When to use water pressure regulator on fiver?

Use it every time. A pressure regulator will not drop the pressure lower than what it is set for.
i.e...I have mine set for 45 psi. If the camp pressure is 60, I will get 45. If the camp pressure is 36, I will get 36.
