RE: RV Dealerships

Call your bank and ask them what your score is. I did this recently and found that mine was 825. DW's was 828, higher than mine, and she doesn't even work!
I don't understand that.
Oops, she doesn't have a job outside the house. I just about got in trouble there......
Merry Christmas everyone!

Can I use wall screw anchors?

The curtain brackets at my windows are screwed into the wall. There are a few of the screws that are stripped out. Can anyone suggest a successful way to re-attach the little brackets?
I am thinking something like drywall anchors?
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas!

RE: New/Old Goodyear G670 RV Motorhome Tires issue

Can get tires from China that are just a few months old.
I won't buy GY anytime again due to service issues.

There may be some type of discount for active duty military. Call em and ask.
Disney isn't known for offering many discounts or freebies.

RE: Corp of Engineer Parks in Ft. Myers area

While I have not camped at any of those campsites, we do frequent the Ft. Myers area, and don't live that far from the St. Lucie site.
Verizon service has always been great as we have visited the general area of each these locations.
Sorry, no info on TV.

RE: Florida Thunderstorm Warnings - awning in or out ?

Another vote to get that thing in!
Better safe than sorry. Having experienced the getting out in the rain in the middle of the night, I can say to bring it in. Heck, I really don't leave mine out much at all if I am not within range to get there and put it in if needed. Those winds can come up really fast sometimes.
Enjoy Florida! We need the tax revenue.

Leveling in the driveway ?

I keep my MH in the driveway here at the house. The problem is that while there is plenty of room length wise to park other vehicles behind it, the width of the MH makes it a bit difficult to pull my other autos past it and up close to the house. I can maneuver by, however, with only a few inches at most to spare.
At the side of the concrete drive, the lawn drops off at the side with a slope away from the drive.
Would it be advisable to build some drive on leveling blocks out of wood, (4-8" thick) where I could pull the left side of the MH off the concrete and onto the blocks, just far enough off to give me a little more room to pull autos past on the driveway side? I would still be able to have the levelers down on the concrete.
Any thoughts/suggestions please.?.
Thanks

RE: Exit Now book

We really like the Next Exit book. This time of year you should be able to find them, current year, at some cracker barrel's on sale for half price. We add notes on the pages of ours as we go. Like one stop for gas we found that the station had just added RV pumps with a dump. So, DW adds that to that exit's notes.

RE: How to Re-pack Wheel Bearings

I have done my own bearings for almost fifty years on my tow trailers, boat trailers and for the last ten years on my fifth wheel. But, this spring my back could not take removing the tire and lifting the brake drum off and then back on. I guess I'll have to pay for this job from now on. I hate to have to pay $200 or more for this as it is such a simple job "a cave man could do it". I am going have to figure a way to do this without all the lifting. Any suggestions?
Russell,
Do you have any grandsons? Offer one of them $50 to "help" you do the job. More economical that the $200 and will be teaching them something too!

RE: I need your help concerning RVWholesalers

I am not a lawyer nor to I play one on TV. Just from experience.
If you have three days, then you need to notify them in writing, not a fax. Overnight a letter with a copy of your contract, that get's a signature that they received it, make sure it is delivered on or before the 3rd day.(FedEx not government PO). Explain your situation, inform them that you are canceling and demanding your deposit back.
If credit card you may be able to do a charge back, but inform them in writing as outlined above for future proof.
And/Or, see if the local dealer will better the deal by $500 and you will take his unit right then and there. He may do it.
Good luck and please post to let EVERYONE know how RVW treated you.

RE: Any Orlando RV parks that offers theme park shuttle?

Fort Summit KOA and KOA (Buena Vista) are the same place. You will be much happier staying next door at Theme World (they are Passport America). It is just a better run campground. Just posting from my experience with both.
Have not tried Tropical Palms but have heard good comments about them.
Give them a call to make sure: Theme World (863)-424-8362, Tropical Palms (407)-396-4595

RE: Waving at other RVs

I'm a waver, but I fully understand if people don't wave back. And they usually don't.
Ditto.
DW and I even comment when we see another rig coming the opposite direction on the interstate. We'll say..."Class A", "5th wheel", etc. and give a little salute. Just our thing. Helps pass the time. Everybody's different and that is okay.
Our youngest, 2yo, sits strapped in the barrel seat behind Mom in his car seat. He yells out "Mo Home" no matter what type of RV we pass. We are trying to teach him the difference in MH's/A's/B's/C's/TT's/5th wheels, which will come, but we are happy that he notes the RV's and "Big Trucks" as he has global developmental delay. Guess I will start waiving more and teach him to do so too.
Most folks at RV parks and campgrounds wave.
Let's all wave more, our fellow man needs a little uplift.

RE: Waving at other RVs

That is people waving at me?
Gee, I thought they were telling me that I was the number one driver! :)
I do find more wavers in the country back home in Tennessee than I find here in Florida. If I see you wave then I will return the waive. Many times when I wave, I get a wave back. Just keep waving.

RE: What do you think of Progressive Insurance

Had Progressive on my autos for about 4 years. Great claim service the one time we needed them and no increase in rates.
Had Progressive on my MH since new(they were best price for coverage). Only once I have called as we had a blowout. They handled everything great here too. Funny thing is that they always have the lowest rates when I shop around. Declining deductibles too.
If you are the RV's original owner they give you an additional discount, you have to ask.

RE: How to tell if you're running low on propane

Would something like this work for you? Hope it helps. Clicky
Ours has a gauge at the tank and an LED indicator on our control panel.
In cold weather, if we are going to be connected to shore power, we use ceramic heaters and then use the furnace more like a back up. Save a dollar.
