RE: auxiliary camper steps?

Here's the one we got. It's a little pricey, but we love it. It doesn't tip & the legs easily fold up so it stores smaller. Very similar to the one ata3001 suggested. Sorry, don't know how to do a "link" http://www.adventurerv.net/folding-safety-step-large-p-2261.html

RE: High density RV parks

Sounds awful to me. We're from a small town & my DH always laughs (and regrets) when we go camping to "get away" and unexpectedly end up in a campground that has more population than our village LOL

RE: What to see and do on I 29 north of Omaha

Depending on how far North??? We'd highly recommend the Redlin Art Center; it's the museum for Terry Redlin's art ... from the web site ... "The Redlin Art Center is conveniently located directly off the I- 29 and U.S.Highway 212 interchange, just east of Watertown, South Dakota." It was really nice. Adults and kids in our party all enjoyed it. The web site is: http://www.redlinart.com/ (sorry, no idea how to do a clicky)

RE: Sink?

Our 232 came with a white cover as a standard feature as well.

RE: A great campground in Wisconsin

I took "Water a must" to mean that they wanted a place on the water...like a river or lake. I guess we need more info. :) Sandi This was my interpretation as well!!

RE: Any Ideas how to ??

Just a note... if you have to replace the carpet, be sure to paint the wood underneath with KILZ to seal the smell and stains, or the smell may come back to haunt you after you install the new carpet. When we had to replace some padding under the carpet (due to previous owner's pet) in our living room the carpet guy told us to paint the area a couple times with KILZ before replacing the padding. It worked great.

RE: Best Mammoth Cave tour

i checked with people around here, finally... As a consensus we liked the Frozen Niagara Tour best. We, like punkin', preferred the formations parts of the caves better than the hollowed out limestone parts of the caves. If you are real into history, though, the Historical Tour may be the one for you because it was quite interesting. peace & joy & have a good trip!!

RE: Securing Progressive Surge Protector

We put a small lock through the "flat piece of metal on the cord" and then through the door and frame of the power panel. Door stays locked prevent anyone from unplugging surge protector. You could also buy a hard-wired Progressive unit. We don't want a hard-wired unit, so i'm glad to have this info, thanks. Do you all always lock yours, or do you generally not worry about it n have no troubles?

RE: Securing Progressive Surge Protector

We have the Surge Guard brand 50A and to make thinks simple I put the portable in the electrical compartment and connect with my main cord. I then bought a 50A extension cord from Camping World and run that to the pedestal. 99% of the time it is long enough to reach and does the following: 1. Keeps the unit safely secured inside a locked compartment. 2. You don't have to let the unit go with your RV when/if it is traded in. 3. In those rare occasions the 50A extension is not long enough, buy a bicycle locking cable and wrap around the surge protector when plugged into the pedestal. We must have a different type of set up than you. Our main cord simply pulls out of the side of our HTT. There is no locked compartment or anything. i imagine the surge protector will usually be plugged into the pedestal & our main cord, or extension cord if needed, will then be plugged into it. i'll take a bicycle cable to use if necessary, thanks for the help. i'm still curious about the Progressive protectors, though, and how the "lock" works ?!?

Securing Progressive Surge Protector

We plan to get a portable Progressive Surge Protector. The specs indicate it has a "Built-in Lock Bracket" which "Allows the user to secure the unit to power source to prevent theft." Can anyone explain to me how this works, and what i need to make it work? Do i need a chain, or a cable, a padlock, or would a bicycle lock work, or what? i haven't been able to find any more specific directions on the Progressive site or the sites that sell them. Thanks for the help, i just want to have the right stuff on hand to secure it so we can start using it right away.

RE: Anyone Use The (Trash) Bag Caddy While Camping/Tailgating?

If it had a lid, it would be great for camping. Otherwise what would you do with it at night? Coons would scatter your trash all over. i just saw this (sorry, i don't know how to make a clicky) & thought of your post... http://www.tweetys.com/collapsiblewastebasketwlid.aspx Edited to say... i just noticed...Tweetys has several collapsible basket type things. AND a collapsible garbage bag holder...http://www.tweetys.com/stormate-garbage-bag-holder.aspx

RE: Best Mammoth Cave tour

Boy, that's a tough one...we did at least 4 tours and really liked them all. If i remember correctly, the kids preferred different ones from us. So, for whom are we talking? Adults? Kids? Both? Endurance & ability to do steps, crouch down, etc. are also considerations. While i wait for your answers, i'll ask the kids & DH & see how they'd answer your question.

RE: Finally, A Led Replacement Bulb That Works!!!

i'm new to LED discussions... i understand you swapped out full light fixtures in your attempt to find just the right one. But this one... the one that works... it's just a bulb that goes into the standard fixture that came in the camper, right? The web site talks about halogens... our camper doesn't have halogens, is there any chance these might still work (i realize the answer is probably no)?

RE: Anyone Bring The Bean Bag Toss Game (Corn Hole) To Camp?

They are noise-makers when you are parked along side someone with a beanbag game. The constant thump-thump-thump is very annoying. i agree!! But i love playing, especially when camping... it's so relaxing and our whole family can play 'cuz we have 3 sets of bags instead of just 2. :B

RE: Hanging things on walls

Has anyone else had the problem of velcro's adhesive holding up in the heat of a stored trailer? When we take our camper out of storage, or even just after it's been in the driveway sitting in the hot sun, the glue on the velcro had loosened up enough from the heat that things are laying on the floor. We haven't hung anything that i'd consider "heavy" either. Any help would be appreciated!!

RE: can 1 set it up?

Definitely yes. i set ours up & took it down many times alone to prep for trips & clean out after trips, end of season, etc. while DH was at work. i ditto Idftldy30's recommendation of having a check-list. Make one for set up and for taking down. Enjoy!!
