RE: Portable Heater for Inside

We use a combination of things, depending on available power. We've used all three with good success in below freezing temperatures. When boondocking, we use the Coleman Black Cat catalytic heater. It's advantages are that you can move it around inside the camper depending on where you need better heat. You can also heat up the bathroom. When we have hookups, we have a small ceramic fan heater which is good for instant heat, but a bit noisy. My prefered choice when shore power is available is this unit HERE.

RE: Bigfoot closes

I live about 5 miles from Arbutus RV (they have several outlets here on Vancouver Island). Ironically, they have only been a Bigfoot dealer for about 2 years, robbing the distributorship from another dealer right across the street who had been a Bigfoot dealer for as long as anyone can remember! If they do as suggested (3 year warranty) this is a much better deal then what was available with a new purchase (only one year!).

RE: Bigfoot closes

Bigfoot Industries suffered a serious setback in the spring of 1998 when Terry Mayall, who founded the company, and two directors died in a plane crash near Moses Lake in Washington. © Victoria Times Colonist 2008 With all due respect to the deceased and their families... This is the kind of reporting we are used to here in Victoria at the hands of the local pathetic media quoting an event from 10 years ago as though it has any bearing on the current event. I've been following this thread since it's inception as I heard about this in its early stages. This thread has been wandering alot with comments on the economy etc., what will make a better camper blah blah blah.... but the fact is we need to respect the passing of a good company, pay our respects, and move on, albiet with a tear or two.
