RE: Ford recall again

I just got one for my truck. Seems to affect a lot of vehicles with or without cruise control. Later, Dave. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p12/luv2skyski/misc/ford%20recall%2009s09/fordrecall09s09front.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p12/luv2skyski/misc/ford%20recall%2009s09/fordrecall09s09back.jpg Speed Control Deactivation Switch Recall (09S09) Speed Control Deactivation Switch Recall (09S09) Ford is recalling all remaining vehicles – approximately 4.5 million U.S. vehicles – equipped with Texas Instruments speed control deactivation switches. While the data show the majority of the vehicles being recalled do not pose a significant safety risk, we are recalling the vehicles to reassure customers and eliminate any future concerns. This recall affects older models, including discontinued vehicles. The majority is greater than 10 model years old, with some up to 18 model years old. http://www.ford.com/images/content/recall-09s09-speed-control-deactivation-switch-224.gif

RE: Hot Water Heater Damage? - Interior Pics

Hey, Bob. We have the same camper (2 years difference) but your heater looks like its mounted 90 degrees from the way mine is mounted. Mine is an Atwood G6A-8E. Here are some pictures of my water heater when I did the Hott Rod mod. Have you looked under the insulation to see what kind of shape the tank is in? I agree with some of the other replies in that if it's not leaking and heating the water not to worry about it but on the other hand if you look under the insulation and there are any cracks at all I would be worried that it would only be a matter of time before it would turn into a leak when the tank gets pressurized. Later, Dave.

RE: Paint a frdige ( plastic ) vent cover

Did this well over a year ago and it still looks great. I've been meaning to do a follow-up report but just haven't gotten around to it. Dave.

RE: Anyone seen one of these?

I was actually talking about the ATC tower. They just built it. You can also see the new International terminal (Atlanta) which is under construction. :B:B:B Midas Smokey - my parents had a 19 1/2' travel trailer made by this company, that was back in the mid 70's; I don't know whatever happened to the company, but this truck camper has all of the same external details as that vintage TT. Tom It's a Midas-Smokey. Built in New Tazewell, TN in the 70's. I bought a (new) 1976 Midas Class-C that I kept for 21 years. Midas was bought by the Pepsi Co. in the late 70's or early 80's and discontinued the Brand. Thanks Tom and James. That's what I was wondering about. Later, Dave.

The only writing on it says "Smokey". Later, Dave.

RE: Need actual weight on NL ten 2000

My 04 10-2000RR empty weight is 3340. That's with the following mods: bumper + steps, A/C, microwave, cadet, hott rod, intellipower converter, tv, expansion tank and a full tank of water (water tank = 36 gals = 300 pounds when full (8.34 #'s/gallon). I, too, upgraded to 19.5's. Later, Dave. p.s. Also full propane (40 lbs).

RE: Anyone else having problems with the AirLift Sureset system?

Where do U see the Wireless for $279? CW wants $480 and the cheapest I can find is $311, Since you already have a pump and lines, all you need is the transducer and controller. Will Air Lift just sell you those parts to retrofit?I'm sorry for your confusion. I was trying to say that the difference in price between the Load Controller I and the WirelessAir system was $80 if both were purchased new (from summit racing). Not $199 + $80. The reason I can't just get parts to retrofit is that they said that the connectors on the new pump and my pump are not compatible. Dave.

Anyone else having problems with the AirLift Sureset system?

After I installed my AirLift Sureset I started having trouble with the pressure transducers. One of the transducers was sending a no pressure signal to the controller which in turn was sending more air to the bag. Luckily I was dumping my tanks at the time and heard the compressor kick on. The bag was nearing 100 PSI and I was able to pull the connector out of the controller before it popped. AirLift sent me a couple of new transducers and everything was fine for a about a year. Lately, I’ve been getting erroneous readings (fluctuating, different than what my analog gauges are reading) so I again called AirLift. They said that they cannot get parts for the Sureset system any longer and that they will do an even swap for the dual path Load Controller 1 system or upgrade to the Air Lift WirelessAIR Remote System for an additional $199. Which is a little odd because the WirelessAIR system only costs $80 more if it's purchased new. ?????????? Either way I'm going with the old tried and true analog gauge, two needle, dual path system. I'm tired of the digital system and it's erratic operation. I hope they got the bugs worked out of the wireless system but I'm just not willing to take that chance. Has anyone else had problems with their Sureset system? Anyone have the wireless system? Any problems? Compliments? Compaints? BTW - You can still purchase the SureSet system for $300. :?:?:?:? (Hope you don't need any parts!) Dave.

RE: Propane problems, advice needed

Just out of curiosity, do you happen to know what the pressure is set at? The regulator is actually set with one side of the system vented to the atmosphere and it should be set to 11 inches w.c. (water column). Are the burner flames still yellow? Here's the issues I had after getting the camper to Atlanta from Denver. Happy camping, Dave.

RE: Generator

I've got a 2004 NL 10-2000RR and a Honda 2000. It fits in my rear genny compartment just fine. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p12/luv2skyski/misc/misc/genandgastankincompt1.jpg You do have to tilt it to get it in though. It runs the Polar Cub (9800 BTU if my memory serves me correctly) with no problem. Happy camping, Dave.

RE: 20 year anniversary trip (Sept 2009)

Congrats on the 20! Looks like you had a great time. Now, this is just for Kim: Did Bruce really help with the wood? He didn't just sit there while you built the campfire then ask you to get him a Pepsi, did he? Please tell me I'm wrong. To Bruce: If the above is in fact true...Congrats! Sure thing the next 20 will be a breeze. :B Glad you had a good time. Kim and ours is 5 years away. Happy camping, Dave.

RE: Cargo Carrier Recommendations

A two point mounting system will significantly reduce the "wobble and sway". Here's the solution I came up with. Got the idea from JoeOchiki. Dave.
