RE: Reservations required at Branson campgrounds ???

The Christmas shows start in November but you would still be able to find a place - but I would make your decisions where you stay before getting to Branson - even if it is just one night - then you can drive around in your tow vehicle and look at other campgrounds - pulling a RV is not difficult in Branson but sometimes there is a lot of traffic - there are posh resorts to state parks in Branson - they will all have openings this time of year - Be sure and see Silver Dollar City at Christmas - it is beautiful and they have some great shows

RE: Fall in Arkansas

This websitegives the update on the fall colors in Arkansas. In Southern Missouri some of the early maples are just starting to turn but we are suppose to get frost this weekend so I think it will be sooner than 3 weeks.

RE: Got our camper home and have a couple questions

All the keys are the same - yea your keys will unlock my storage doors unless I change the lock - which alot of people do
Contact any RV dealer that has a RV supply store - they will have the keys
Welcome to the great world of RVing

RE: One LAST TV question. I promise!

I am assuming you are setting up your satellite receiver so you can get the Direct TV satellite signals? The antenna will not pick up Direct TV only local channels and the old ones work just as good as the new ones

RE: Branson MI in November

September and October are a slow period for Branson - it picks up again in November and December for the holiday and christmas shows - lots of drive through light displays -Silver Dollar city is beautiful for the holiday with hunders of lights - all campgrounds are still open and weather can be nice but cool with the fall color in leaves in the hils

RE: Another Branson Q- when are most shows 'open"

We were there last week - the Peter Pan and Shoji Tabuchi was closed but a lot are still open - Silver Dollar city has the Harvest Festival - if you have something specific you want to see you should call first - otherwise you will enjoy less crowds - we stayed at Table Rock Lake State park and really like it

RE: Beavers Bend, OK during Thanksgiving

we headed down to South Toledo Bend the week after Christmas and were going to spend the night at Beavers Bend - it was full of Boy Scouts and no sites available - who would of thought! There are commercial campgrounds that are available if all else fails

RE: Buffalo Point Ar

If you have been to Ernie than you know the upper river campgrounds are for tents - Tylers Bend has nice sites that will accommodate most sizes of RVs but no hookups - nice shower house - the sites are not on the water but you can almost walk to water access - Tylers is about mid point on the river - if you are there this fall - hope the leaves are turning - it can be beautiful - be sure and look for the elk in the evening by Ponca - you could spend the night at Lost Valley or Steel landing and just park in the parking lot - just stay away from Kyles Landing -it is the nicest campground but it is a heck of a hill to go down - and back up again - Lost Valley has a nice hike with water falls and caves - dont forget the flash light

RE: Arabia Steamboat Museum, Kansas City, MO

I went there in my car a few weeks ago - do not try it on a saturday or Sunday - too much traffic - I was lucky to find a place to park in my car - this is downtown Kansas City - right off of 70 HWY - There is the farmers market right behind the musuem - the musuem parking lot is not for a rv - Cableas is to the west of their in Kansas not far off of 70 with lots of parking but not a short drive - We enjoyed the musuem and there is a lot of great produce stores right there also

RE: topsail for the first time

If you dont have a bicyle rent one - if you do have a bicyle rent a cart - great ride to the beach - on 98 hwy the the east is a seafood restaurnt to buy shrimp or scallops - they have the best crab dip - our favorite restaurant was Stinkys fish camp - when you come out of the campground take a right - away from 98 - and go a couple of miles and it is on the left - great and different seafood dishes - The campground office has menus so you can review them when you go out.
We did taket he dolphin boat ride and it was nice to see the ocean from a differnt few - there is a huge sail boat in Destin that look like it would be neat to ride -
Oh and when you hear running water in the middle of the night - it is not your RV leaking - it is the sprinkler system going off
Have fun

RE: North Rim of Grand Canyon

We towed into North Rim for one night - it was worth it - not that much further than from Jacobs lake - except it did snow on us in May - wish we could of stayed longer but did not plan on it because of no electricity but the campground is beautiful - in the forest - some sites on the edge you can see the canyon - so much different than the south- you do need reservations - my recommendations - make reservations and eat at the Lodge - if you are lucky or make them for 5:30 - you get a seat right at the window overlooking the canyon - we had a condor land right on the ledge and was looking at everyone - until the rnager scared him off - and the food there is great - first class restaurant - we drove to Zion from there

RE: Fall colors in the Ozarks - suggestions needed

Although I am from Southwest Missouri, I recommend Arkansas for fall colors - driving Northwest Arkansas on Hwy 540 between Fayetteville and Fort Smith arkansas is beautiful at the right time - or on I40 between Fort Smith and Little rock
Arkansas has great state park campgrounds with full hook ups in these areas - this website will give you a near estimate of when the fall colors is expected along with travel ideas http://www.arkansas.com/calendar/fall_foliage_pg1.aspx
