RE: S2000?

Have you tried contacting Roadmaster for their advice? Since they sell a baseplate for the car, they may have some valuable insight for you.......
Also, I do believe there is a very active S2K forum out there. Maybe that would be a good place to inquire further.
I would feel better about trying it if I could find a few others who have flat towed an S2000 without problems.

RE: Tires

An 18% gas mileage increase from changing tires?:h
I recently replaced my 8 year old Chinese tires with Samson truck tires. The ride is smoothe and my gas mileage also increased by 1 mile per gallon, from 7.5 to 8.9, at a speed of around 60 mph. I paid $2,000 for six 245/70R19.5 tires mounted and balanced.

RE: VuQube 2000 & Direct TV

I assume you have programmed the 2000 properly for DTV? And you do have the Vucube Control box as well, correct? If you have the manual, the programming procedure for DTV is in there. If you don't have the manual, it is available online. There are NO DIP switches to touch on the 2000.
We were given the VuQube 2000 We took one of our Direct TV receivers from our house (D12). We set up the cube and locked in on satellite but when we search for satellite on the receiver it says no satellite found or receiver error. We have tried everything. Even connecting the coax directly to the box. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I for one, would like to hear from ANYONE who has had a MANUAL Transmission fail due to unauthorized towing 4-down.

RE: S2000?

Or maybe the Honda lawyers were in control of the no-tow decision and there will never be an issue with the transmission........
Look at the 10/24 posting on THIS page........
Thanks for that! Very encouraging that someone towed their S2000 over 10,000 miles with no damage.
Wayne
false sense of security IMHO. perhaps tranny will go out at 40,000 mi instead of 140, 000, on those vehicles not rated to be towed 4 down, I don't think that there will necessarily be a nuclear explosion after 1000 miles of towing. I think the damage will be less abrupt.

RE: Is this legal?

Do they even put seat belts in TT's?
Most every state has a seat belt law now, so the answer would be crystal clear.......

RE: Tires

5-6 years is a bit extreme, but many will post that they start losing sleep at 5 years old. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. If my tires pass inspection at 7yrs, I'll have them checked annually until 10yrs, then replace them.
Of course, visually inspect them regularly, regardless of age and keep the correct pressure all the time. If a visual problem is discovered, it's time for a change.

RE: S2000?

So....... Roadmaster does make a baseplate kit for the 2002 S2000. I'm guessing that means there are people out there towing them. Your challenge is to find out how they are setting up and what success/problems they have had.

Good luck! The S2000 is one of my favorite all time rides. Don't sell it, no matter what. We made that mistake! ;-(

RE: Ocean Lakes - RV washing companies

Used Keep It Clean a couple of years ago. Terrific job - was & wax. We had our 36ft Pace Arrow at the time and it was $290 in 2010. Highly recommended.

RE: BUY AN EXT. WARRANTY??

Brand new rig, you have at least a year to decide. If you find the warranty work piling up in the first year, you MAY want to consider an EW.
We bought a 2003 DP in 2010. We got a 2yr Platinum Coverage EW from XtraRide. Not cheap but we were buying our first higher-end DP and did not want any unwelcome surprises. After the two years are up (in Sept), I will probably look into a Drivetrain-Only coverage policy. $15k for an engine or tranny replacment scares me enough to buy insurance. But that's just me!

RE: Really -- $1,500 for PDI ! Seriously???

Maybe in the 1980's this "trick" had some purpose, but today you are just kidding yourself.
Thorough research will let you easily determine the best price out there for any vehicle you want to buy. Figure out exactly what you are willing to pay, then make it clear to the dealer of your choice that this is your bottom line and you are not there to dicker. Yes or No please.
As long as your numbers are reasonable (the dealership does have to make a profit!), it is unlikely that you will have to walk away without a deal.
I just bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, I know it is not a RV. Went to three Jeep dealers in my area, I just asked them each what is the final drive out of the lot number. Anything else they could call it what they wanted and charge what they wanted. I just wanted their best number. Boy there was a big difference in out the lot number.
I'll tell you my favorite trick is go back and forth for several hours until you get the best price you think you're going to get. Then once you get there tell them you'll have to think about it overnight and come back the next day. (They hate that and will do everything to keep you in the showroom) Then once you leave you head to the next town to another dealer and lie to them about the price from dealer number 1. For example lets say you got them down to $20k. You go to the next dealer and tell them dealer number 1 is going to sell you the Jeep for $18k and if they can beet the price you'll buy it from them. If they can't do any better, then you know you got the first guy down to their best price. But I can tell you two out of the last three times I did this, the second dealer matched the price I had made up. An no I don't feel guilty at all about lying to a salesman.

RE: Really -- $1,500 for PDI ! Seriously???

Assuming you can come to an agreement on the final price, you NOW have the leverage to demand $1500 worth of PDI time! I would make darn sure that EVERYTHING was tested and proven to work before that tech got away from me. If it took two days, so be it. That's a large chunk of change, so the tech should be glued to you for ample time.........

RE: Black Warer Tank Q

Why is camping in the deep south any different than July in New England, with temps at 90 degrees every day for a couple of weeks.
Forgive me for trying to inject some common sense into this thread...... :-/
We are rather new to the RV experience.....
LOL! So...... Your s$%& don't stink and it'll take a few days of hot weather for it to? ;-)
Apparently by your smartarse response you have never RV'd for any length of time in the deep south. Forgive me for even thinking of trying to help answer your question.:R:R

It you are sitting with a full black tank in the hot temps of Florida it WILL start to stink. I often have to put 2 bottles of chems in the tank if I am unable to dump every two days or so......which BTW proves to the nay sayers that tank chems DO work and have a purpose.

RE: clorox bleach in diesel

1 cup in 90gal = .07% (7 one hundredths of one percent)
I would be shocked if this would cause big trouble in an engine that sucks a full gallon of fuel through in 6 - 8 minutes, going down the highway. If my math is right, 5oz of fuel goes through the engine in about 16 seconds at highway speed..... Everything also goes through both water separators and fuel filters on the way.
while it certainly makes sense to err on the side of caution, I'm thinking this was a bit of overkill. JMHO.........
HOWEVER.... I'm still trying to understand how it's even remotely possible to confuse the diesel and water tank fillers........ That one has me scratching my head. ;-)

RE: Adding water after dumping black tank

We put Campa-Chem and ~~3gal of water in the black tank after dumping. There's really no reason for the campa-chem other than we like doing it and it's $1 per application. Water alone would be just fine.
We do nothing with the gray tank.

RE: Passenger electric seat not working??????????

Without a wiring schematic, it becomes a matter of trial and error to track down the proper circuit in the fuse panel. A multimeter, time and patience are what you need....... Maybe a call to Newmar can get you at least pointed in the right direction?
