We have just had a 44-post thread on the SquareTrade report.

RE: Forum Profile Edit

Ok I tried RV.net. My password does not work there. I could register as a new user, but I could not access my previous posts, etc.
Forum passwords are the same on all portals

RE: Adding Sig Pic

A couple of weekends ago, we had a situation in which the servers were rejecting all pictures. That is not the case now; I just successfully re-uploaded my signature picture.
What portal are you using?

RE: Adding Sig Pic

The file size and width are fine, but the height it too large.
Maximums are:
width = 500 pixels
height = 100 pixels
file size = 30 KB
If you go back to the map site, redo the map and use the drop-down menu to save it as the smallest size, it will work.
Althernately, if you know how, you can resize this one so that the height is 100 pixels.

RE: "Forum Technical Support Related Tips"

The tips column was added to 3 of the portals in the first roll-out. I think they will be rolled out to the other portals, eventually.

RE: Wheres My Sig Picture?

Reducing the pictures dimensions and reducing the file size are separate operations, although reducing the dimensions does reduce the file size.
Using irfanview, when you save a picture as a jpeg (or GIF) you get the following window to the side of the save window.
http://i48.tinypic.com/o8zdx0.jpg
Use the Save quality: slider to increase the compression by sliding it toward the left (lower quality). You can also reduce the file size by keeping in of the data; ie, removing the checks from boxes 4 through 7, counted down from the slider.

RE: OP's message shows last?

There is a setting in the General Preferences section on your preferences page that determines the default, Oldest First or Newest First. The setting on each thread page that 2oldman refers to, is a temporary change and would have to be set every time you opened a thread.

I assume you are using the Good Sam portal. If that is correct, then try the RV.Net portal.

RE: new system on forum

It might help if the reasoning behind the change was posted. Other than the one comment about seeing the ads twice, nothing is posted about the WHY of the change. What I see is a lot of blank space on the bottom 1/3 of the page and no page no., nest and back links.
Perhaps I am missing a critical piece of information but if so, it would be nice if we understood the why of the change.
Read the last paragraph in the tips column.

RE: Air card usage at home

Like NorWester said, there's no such thing as unlimited data with Verizon. That's one of the biggest problems with cellular modems. The other problem is that your cellular modem (aircard) is one-fifth the speed of a normal cable modem. So, if you're doing things like streaming video, an aircard is not what you want to be using.
I'm not sure Verizon can drop the "grandfathered" unlimited accounts. These accounts are the result of a settlement between Verizon and the Attorney General of New York.

RE: new system on forum

Would someone please post a screen shot of a thread that does not have the bottom link bar, which includes the Page:, Next, and Prev links. Show the left side with the link bar, forum and topic, like this:
http://i50.tinypic.com/2sanser.jpg
I have looked at hundreds of thread pages and have not yet found a missing link bar. The only place I see it missing is on a forum topic page, when the tip column on the right side is blank.
Note: not all of the portals have gone to the new format. The technicians rolled it out on three of them to see what problems are encountered.
Thanks,
Tom

RE: color font

Why can't i change the color on my reply?
Edit your post, you will see there is no text between the two color tags. Only text between the two tags will have the color change. I'm old fashion and type my own tags.
[red]This is red[/red] will produce This is red
Don't quote or copy this post. I use a trick to display the brackets.

RE: forum not opening correctly

The URLs on RV.Net have not changed; thus the change is on your end. Skipnchar has given you the solution - delete the current favorite and then add a new one.
