RE: Census Bureau

Sounds like a burglar might be trying to find out where you are and when you'll be back. I'd ignore the call. Or call'em back see what they want and baffle them with BS.

RE: RV Olympics

At equipment shows(dozens, loaders, backhoes, etc.) They had rodeos for completion. Stacking buckets, hooking rings, backing up and other such events. It was a big draw. Might be fun to have these competition events at rallies. The Nationals could be held at the last GS Rally of the year.

RE: Used RV purchase. No further contact

"Our issue is we have had ZERO further contact from CW of Syracuse on any of these issues."
That is the issue , Not whether or not the OP did a thorough pre delivery inspection and that is what the OP writes about
We disagree Op said " I called CW of Syracuse right away and brought these things to the attention of the service dept. I understand that these sort of things are not part of any used vehicle warranty but I do feel that they were overlooked in service. Also we had asked for a price quote on replacement fabric for one window awning that is pretty decayed. Our issue is we have had ZERO further contact from CW of Syracuse on any of these issues."
I read that he wants CW to take care of these items he feels are pre-delivery "service" issues. Plus he needs a quote on the fabric. I agree that CW should return his calls, but again I don't know the whole story.

Oh darn I missed that......good ad for CW if you can stand the stupid Housewives shows. Maybe we'll get real lucky and the Jersey Shore group will go camping and get lost in the woods

RE: Used RV purchase. No further contact

The tires weren't cupped and no shimmy or pull on the test drive? The generator ran well before you "tested it after you got home"? You found the windshield crack after you got home? Seems a pre delivery inspection was not done prior to yow driving off the lot. All of these things should have been found in a simple walk through. Granted CW was to have it serviced but no dealer is going to go through every system and make it new. These are things you need to address before you purchase. Dealers will make sure it is semi clean, has oil, water, and enough fuel to get it off their lot. They are not going to put on new tires, and windshield's after the deal is done and price agreeded on. I agree they should return your calls. But if it was an as is sale with no warranty that is the deal you made. Talk to them maybe they can help you on parts. But the bottom line you had an opportunity to inspect before you signed the paperwork and drove it off the lot. Not trying to be a jerk but consumers need to take responsibility for their actions and decisions also and not blame the retailer for things the consumer over looked.

RE: Hooking up to cable tv in RV Park question

I would recommend 6 cable. It handles the digital broadcast much better. The 59 has a lot of static/snow.
if you have to buy a length of cable then choose RG-6 but if you have a length of RG-59 laying around i'd just use that. for as often as you'll likely use it 59 will be fine for your stay.
I would get RG6. For digital TV Rg56 gives crappy reception. Trust me on this one. I learned the hard way. Took me two seasons to figure out why my reception sucked.

RE: dumping black tank downhill 80'

The slope is for residence plumbing. Dumping th grey after the black will flush the solids. Your going to use a bunch more grey if this a permanent set up

RE: cable TV

I was having terrible cable reception at a couple of parks. At the last park they told me about the different cables. Changed cable and instant perfect picture.

RE: cable TV

Make sure the cable is the u6 (I think). The old cable type will give a very bad picture with the new HD broadcast. Try a different outside cable yours might be bad.

RE: dumping black tank downhill 80'

Get a roll of drainfield solid pipe. You can roll it up when not in use. Can be found at Home Depot. Dump black then grey. Either slope will work.
