RE: Help with non-lighting water heater

Make sure all the electrical connections are clean and tight. From the appearance of the condition of your WH corroded connections could be very possible.

Was the problem resolved?

RE: Splicing Into Fridge 12V?

The problem I would have with it is that the fridge circuit is a dedicated line and even though LEDs are very low current draw you don't want anything that could mess with that circuit. I believe you value keeping the fridge cold. Try looking for a nearby light circuit to tie into. If the LEDs have an inline fuse or you could add one maybe tying into the fridge line would be more doable.

RE: Smoked Bearing -- Spindle Damage - Axle Replacement??

That looks like a job for a professional with a professional eye to take care of. How long has it been since the bearings were cleaned and greased?

RE: Splicing Into Fridge 12V?

If you have a three way fridge it is probably the 12 volt feed to run it on 12 volts. And, yes it could be for the control board, but it doesn't require heavy wiring.

RE: Maiden Voyage with new Voltage --- and Brake Issues

This may be a long shot, but did you check the emergency breakaway switch to make sure it isn't messed up in some way?

RE: Not allowed to dump gray water??

Gray water is what you need to drain after draining the black water tank. It flushes the stinky stuff out the drain lines and hose(the stinky slinky).

RE: Not allowed to dump gray water??

I believe they are talking about dumping it directly on the ground. Gray water in your trailer tanks can go in at the dump station.

RE: Fresh water pump problems

There could be a leak or crack in the line or a fitting between the pump and fresh water tank allowing air into the line. That will cause the pump to lose its prime.

RE: Paper Maps??

You should get the road atlas. GPS isn't everything when you want to find your way, like alternate routes, etc. The book doesn't require batteries either. Walmart has them:Atlas

RE: Almost lost the awning

Does your awning have the flippers on the arms that hold them together when in the stowed position. They add some more insurance from the awning unrolling.

RE: LP Tanks

You best action would be to get longer hoses, you will thank yourself. Also, does you tank holder have the added height to clamp down the tanks? We have 30 pounders and the required an extra long hold down rod to reach.

RE: Propane powered portable coolers

Do a Google search for portable LP refrigerators and you will find some listed.

RE: refrigerator fan cycles

It may be your converter mounted under the fridge. Absorption RV fridges do not have a fan. Absorption fridges do not have fans, as you say, but this fan is for cooling the space behind the fridge. You can buy them from CW. Our HiLo had the fan as standard equipment. It has a switch inside that allows you to turn the fan off when not wanted. fan

RE: refrigerator fan cycles

Many of the fans have a temperature control that turns the fan on when the space behind the fridge reaches something like 100 degrees. It is to increase the efficiency of the fridge.

RE: Norcold Problem or Blessing?

I'm using our indoor/outdoor thermometer right now. I have the outdoor thermometer in the trailer fridge and the indoor unit in the house. I'm doing the initial spring check to see if things are working okay. I don't have to go outside to check the temperature. How's that for being lazy?

RE: Norcold Problem or Blessing?

As long as you don't freeze Mom's veggies you should be okay. I know how that works.
