Electric Coolers

Does anyone have an electric cooler? We usually keep our beverages in a regular cooler and not in the refrigerator of the TT. Saw one of these electric coolers, Coleman made this one, it was AC and had an outlet for a vehicle. During the hot summer months we go through a lot of ice. LOL We probably take too many beverages,etc...

Kayak Hauling

We have 2 kayaks, our TV is a conversion van, our TT is a 23ft America-Lite. I've seen the RV Kayak Rack - kind of pricey at $1100, plus we have a large window in the back. The most logical would be to put them on top of the van. Anyone have any suggestions/ideas I'm not thinking of?

RE: What is your non tow vehicle?

I have no idea on what I want. I've been researching some cars like the Mazda 3 5 door, Subaru Crosstrek, Subaru Forester, 2014 Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Patriot. Not real fond of the small suv types like the new Ford Escape.

Paddleboards and Paddleboarding

Do you do any paddleboarding? I've heard to stay away from inflatable paddleboards. What's a good entry level board? Any other advice about the sport?

What is your non tow vehicle?

What are you driving as your non tow vehicle, is it dependable, why did you choose it? I'm starting my car buying research and trying to figure out what I want and what I need. I want to downsize some, since I'm planning on retiring in about 4-5 years. My SO has a full size van to pull the camper. I probably need AWD or 4WD. We are outdoorsy people, biking, hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, and soon to be paddleboarding.

RE: Canon T5i opinions?

I have the Canon T3i that I purchased off Canon Outlet - refurbished with the kit lens and picked up a Canon 80-200mm off Ebay for dirt cheap. Love the T3i, even though it doesn't get used a lot. Whichever one you choose, you wont be disappointed with a Canon. IMHO

RE: Buying a New or Used Car

I'm not sure what I want to buy, I've had SUVs for the last 20 years. I might go with a smaller SUV like the new Jeep Cherokee or Patriot, or some sort of hatchback like Subaru Forester or Crosstrek or ???? Whether this will be the vehicle I take into retirement, who knows. My lease is up next February so I will need to buy something. I don't put a lot of miles on a vehicle 10,000-12,000 at most(6,000 is my work commute).

RE: Buying a New or Used Car

At one point I thought about buying my truck after the lease because it will be 3 yrs old with less than 30k miles. But it's really more vehicle then I need

Buying a New or Used Car

I will be buying a new/used vehicle in the next 6 months. Right now I'm leasing a truck, which is more vehicle then I really need 100% of the time. I plan to buy this next vehicle as I plan to retire in the next 4-5yrs and want to downsize. I know its not a good idea to buy a vehicle you leased. I'm not sure if I want to buy new or used? Buying used from a dealer or private seller? How old to buy used? 2-3 years old? Are there any good websites to research? Also, not sure if I will buy a car(hatchback), SUV, or ?? Some vehicles I want to check out are Ford Focus/Fiesta Hatchback, Jeep Patriot/Cherokee, Honda CRV, Toyota Tacoma, ????

Who's camping this weekend?

We're heading out tomorrow for Rifle River State Recreation in Midland for 4 nights. Suppose to be on the cool side - high of 55/60 tomorrow. Got the sweats/sweatshirts all packed up. On the menu is BLTs, Hot Dogs, Chicken - probably fried and Pizza Casserole. I think we'll get in one last camping trip next month.

Toilet Paper Roll Fire Starters

Saw this on Pinterest and going to try it next week. Save the lint from your clothes dryer and stuff it in empty toilet paper rolls. Don't know how well it works, but its a good way to recycle.

RE: Favorite Crockpot recipe

Mexican Crockpot Chicken - 3-4(or more) boneless chicken breast, 1 can chicken broth, 1 can black beans drained, bag of frozen corn, jar of salsa. I put the chicken breast on the grill for about a min a side. Put everything in a crockpot and cook about 6-8 hrs. Shred the chicken. Serve with tortilla chips or put on a tortilla shell
