RE: What the the easiest way to add shelves in the warddrobe ?

I bought 1/4" plywood to line both interior sides of our wardrobe - attached 1x2 furring strip shelf supports with woodscrews and liquid nails to these pieces of plywood. I then cut shelfs out of 1/2" plywood, once installed they hold the side panels in place. I did add some small right angle brackets to the front center for added strength. Best part is the whole thing is removable - nothing is attached, no holes drilled (except the three small angle brackets).

RE: Roof Leaking!!!!!! KZ coyote: metal roof

On a Coyote, you also want to check the small (4" or so) vinyl divider strips located between the bunk door and edge of the camper. These are not sealed well at all from the factory.

RE: Popup Gizmos - First use experience

You can also get them at Cabela's for $12.99. See this link Cabela's Sportsman Blankets Read the reviews, lots of folks use them on their campers.

RE: Popup Gizmos - First use experience

You can buy the sportsman blankets from Camping World or Campmor for $11.99 each. My hybrid required three. No bunjee cords but alligator clamps hold them on nicely. I see no evidence that the material is any different then the popup gizmos. If your hang up is bunjee cords, it would be fairly simple to add some grommets.

RE: Petrified Forest National Park

I know many here disagree, but IMHO, Petrified Forest is the most disappointing NP I've been to, and I'm a geologist! Unless your travels don't allow, have you considered staying at Bonito NF CG near Sunset Crater (north of Flagstaff) and touring Wupatki and/or Walnut Canyon NM's? Bonito CG is higher up and has more trees. But the ground is covered with black volcanic ash/sand. Really different and interesting. The trees around Petrified Forest NP are all rock! Umm, that would be why it's called "Petrified" Forest NP.

RE: KZ Coyote Bunk End ????

I have to agree for the most part with Dayner. I have a 2006 CMS Coyote that I purchased new. After four years of ownership I am extremely displeased with the quality of materials and workmanship. For any other Coyote owners, heed the advice regarding the 6" horizontal strips on either side of the bunk doors - they were very shoddily sealed on mine and allowed water to enter and rot the wood underneath. Have also battled the tent issues, etc. I expect to put mine up for sale very soon to recoup as much value as possible.

RE: Parking in driveway

Dick, you forgot a few things about my campground. 1. Armed security 2. No diesel rigs cranking up after hours. 3. Tour guide with over 60 yrs expereince. Folks, if you ever get a chance to have Dick and his wife for guests, please do so. They are wonderful people and highly informed campers. While here we discussed many things most campers do not pay any attention to or even care to learn. Dick has taken the time to learn the things he should know in order to be a safer camper and a better driver. That having been said, DO NOT count on a root beer float when offered by Dick. Sandy had nothing to do with this offer or else I think it would have came to be. Each day, each night for three nights, Dick said we were going to have a root beer float. I am still waiting for one. Dick & his wife were the 22nd camper from this site to park their rig here. Many have been here so regularly they do not need to be directed in. Jerry is usually parked before I can get out of the house to say hello. W5IT has been here a dozen times and I do not think he has visited in the same RV twice. Once Dick has parked here a couple of times, he will not need any parking directions. I find it extremely humorous that these folks are referred to as "campers".

RE: Bad Experience

Mud at your door classifies as a bad experience? It sounds like they atleast attempted to fix the problem. Guess they should have rolled out a red carpet.

RE: KZ Coyote Bunk End ????

I have a 2006 CMS and had the tents replaced twice under warranty for the same problem. K-Z messed around with different tent suppliers - the last set was much better quality and seems to be holding up better although none have had a very good fit. The first set held water and contributed to the corner tearing out but they definitely had problems. The tent ends are supposed to have a five year warranty to the original owner, not sure other then that.

RE: Everythings loose!

Well water sitting in your water heater produces a sulfur smell sometimes. Other than that there's no reason to drain the water other than keep it from freezing. If you have an electric heat model, constant draining drastically increases the risk of burning out the electric element with no water in the tank. Happens too quick to hit the switch to OFF. No real problem when the electric element burns out, every dealer has them in stock -- high demand part. I know I did my part to support this. Stripped screws might technically be a "warranty issue" but will quickly brand you as a whiner at the RV dealer. These are not $200,000 motor homes, they're cheap trailers assembled with various degrees of indifference. Even I can fix this sort of stuff better than a minimum wage "mechanic" at the RV dealer! ;) And I can do it in a few minutes without dragging the trailer over to the dealer and leaving it (and all my stuff) there for several days (or even weeks). Save your warranty issues for things you can't solve. -- Chuck "Cheap" being the keyword...and crappy a close second. Most of these campers are a joke the way they are put together, my Coyote being no exception. After four years of ownership, replacing crappy parts and repairing shoddy workmanship is considered routine maintenance.

RE: Gizmos Install Photos

Are those popupgizmos or sportsmen blankets I use the sportsmen tthat I purchased from campmor.com and have to say, they look EXACTLY like your photos when installed. So what does make gizmos so special? I paid $11.99 for two of the blankets.

RE: 2003 KZ Coyote pricing

thatguy1967: I missed your post earlier. What upgrades have they done since the '03 model? Are there problems with these? I was basing my last comment on the ads I'm seeing online of $9K and up. Is the $7K that stuckrk recommended more in line? The main differences would be the door latch design - I believe those older models used the screw knobs instead of the truck latches. I would be most concerned about the tentage. We had ours replaced twice under warranty and they have since changed the design. Very loose fit...tearing in the top corners.

RE: 2003 KZ Coyote pricing

Let's see, I paid roughly $12,000 for my brand new 2006 Coyote 23CMS. No way would I pay $8000 for a 2003 Model that has none of the updates to canvas and doors.

RE: Compton Ridge under new owners

Shayer - from the day Legacy took over Compton Ridge it went downhill. The Sims family that owned Compton had created something far better then a "campground" - families came from hundreds of miles away to partake in annual traditions (Easter, Halloween, Etc) and they went out of their way to make those weekends special for their customers. They even had weekends that campers could rake a few hours and earn their stay (great for them, great for the campers). They would hold potluck dinners and bring the entire campground together for a social. All of that went out the door with Legacy Resorts - including common courtesy and competency. They would think nothing of switching you to a different site even if you'd reserved a specific one a YEAR in advance (yes a year)....two years in a row no less. Again, I'm pretty psyched to hear they have new ownership - I only hope the new owners do their research and realize what made Compton so popular in the first place. At $37.00 a night, they'll need to do all they can.

RE: Compton Ridge under new owners

This is encouraging. Legacy resorts has pretty much ruined Compton for our family - I hope they go back to the basics of a family run campground and reinstitute some of the things that made Compton so great (witchy weekend, potluck dinners). I also hope they give you the site you reserved...instead of putting whereever they felt like at the time. Encouraging news indeed.

RE: Look at the pretty new Coyote!!

I do wish K-Z would hire an interior design specialist. At first glance, it doesn't look too bad but take a close look at the cabinets - it almost looks like they have cork board centers (aka CHEAP). I'm glad they did finally do away with the cheesy, looks like I made it in my garage with my 10 year old son's tool set, arm rests that we have on our couch.
