RE: What is a "B+"?

You own a Winnebago/Itasca Navion. Winnebago does not make B+'s. They make Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes. When I look at information for your MH at the Itasca site they show it as a Diesel, Class C. Class A... Built from the ground up by the manufacturer. Class B... Built by customizing/gutting a stock van delivered by Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc. Class C... Built by starting with the cab/engine components delivered by Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc. but building everything else. A B+ is simply a streamlined class C. B+ was created by marketing types because some thought a Class C had to have a bed over the cab look. Besides B+ sounds better than a C-.

RE: install rv power awning on home?

I assume an rv awning power supply is 12v so you'd have to handle that. You might go to sunsetter.com and get a free quote...

RE: Boat or RV ?

If you want to travel around the country then perhaps the MH is the better option. What you plan to do with a boat is yours to decide. I've owned a boat and never again. You can of course get a MH and tow a boat.

RE: Opinions on Rubber Roof Condition - Pictures Included

Thor advised me to wash the roof once or twice a year with a soft brush using Spic and Span. No conditioners, No coatings, Nothing. So that's what I do. Mine is 13 years old and looks a lot like the OP's.

RE: digital tv reception

I assume you have checked that the booster is on in both units. Are they the same antenna make and model? Wiring in good shape? If so, it could be the TV in the Winnie. I have two HDTV's that are used in my MH. Two different brands (both low end). One is permanently mounted to the dash the other I use outside from time to time. The one outside acquires fewer stations than the inside TV. I have tried hooking them both to the same antenna feed with the same results. They may have different spec's in regards to what signal strength is acceptable in order to be acquired during the channel search. As a second input, I swapped out the original Winegard Batwing (12 yrs old at the time) for a Jack. Big improvement. Did not alter the fact that one TV picked up more.

RE: GPS

I have owned Garmin (Several), Tom Tom, and my DW bought me a Magellan Roadmate 9165T for Christmas two tears ago. They will all have you scratching your head as to why in the world is it sending me this way. I always found it amusing they will send you one way to get to a destination and a totally different one on the way back. Of the those that I have owned, Garmin appears the least problematic. The DW got the Magellan at CW to use in the RV as it was supposed to be RV friendly and recommended by CW/GS. I find it interesting that CW/GS has not logoed a Rand McNally product as their GPS unit. I don't like the fact it won't recharge itself when connected to the laptop for map updates. You have to be sure to have a full battery before you start the update process.

RE: ROOF CLEANING AND TREATING

I contacted Thor regarding how to maintain my rubber roof. Their response was to wash it once or twice a year using Spic and Span (I use Dawn) with a soft bristled brush. They DID NOT suggest and conditioners. They did say to check the caulking and sealants around all protrusions. I have used Mop & Glo on the badly oxidized end caps of my MH and after 18 months still looks great. I would NOT put it on my roof.

RE: Who here cooks inside camper or Outside camper?

Have never turned on the Oven. Have never turned on the stove top. Bought a cutting board at CW that sits on top. Only cooking in the MH is either in the slow cooker or microwave. Anything that needs a flame is taken outside for grilling.

RE: AVG free, not free?

I went to their website: Seems they have a 30 day trial then you have to buy it. They also advertise a AVG Free at AVG.com I simply use the free antivirus from Microsoft.

RE: Mileage/Gas Tank Info for Class B to Live In

I had a 1999 Rialta FD and as I remember the tank was around 20 gallons, perhaps less. I also remember getting in the high teens in mpg. I liked the concept of the Rialta but had problems with the bathroom/shower and finding tires. Also, don't expect to go to a VW service center for maintenance. At least that was my experience. And just to pick nits, a Rialta is a Class C.

RE: diferent smart phones

Never owned an Apple product until I got my IPhone 3GS. Had been in the computer systems and services for over 25 years mostly with IBM and Microsoft. Had tried a couple of Android products and found them hard to setup, confusing interfaces, and could not get them to do what I needed done. I suspect many improvements have been made in the last couple of years. I've also had Palm based phones and several other "smart" phones from Motorola, Samsung, and a few more; all just didn't work well. The IPhone was a snap to setup, connect to my Windows laptop (to sync contacts, backup, download iTunes stuff), get email from multiple sources, combine and display multiple calendars. It is not perfect, but has been the most solid and stable smart phone I've ever owned. Waiting to see what the next iteration is, but plan on sticking with IPhones. And yes it is more expensive unless you get a generation back. I upgraded my old phone to my 3GS for a penny.

RE: Can we talk about LIMA BEANS, please

The one thing I won't eat...oh and beets. Agree on the beets... only thing more repulsive is brussel sprouts.... Lima's, butter beans are all good stuff.

RE: 77 South to Huntington State Park, SC.

I did a Google map search from Charlotte to Huntington Beach State Park and they showed an alternate route which bypasses both Darlington and Florence and took only about 10 minutes longer. It sends you from Charlotte towards Matthews, Rockingham and then down to Conway. Have a great stay.

RE: Reyo 25T Sleeping

Could you add the optional overhead bed? You also may need to think about where you going to store their stuff.

RE: RV Parks and Large Dogs

Big dogs scare people little dogs are just yappy. Little dogs make little messes, big dogs make large messes. Not saying I agree with the rule or if it's fair.

RE: What presure>>>

I use what's on the placard from the MH manufacturer which is based (I suspect) on the GVWR/GAWR along with the charts from the tire manufacturer. Others will have a different plan.

RE: Huntington Beach -- Myrtle beach

HBSP is a great place. Wonderful beach, salt marsh, close to great golf, seafood, Brookgreen Gardens, and so much more. Limited full hookups though if that's a concern.

RE: Not allowed to dump gray water??

Here's one... From coast to coast I've never, ever seen a campground where tent campers were expected to retain their gray water (and my friend owns the largest campground in NJ) but I guess there's always a first time! Seriously, the gray water issues with tent campers are due to washing at the spigot and creating a wet mess there and erosion. Soap has been biodegradeable and virtually phosphate-free for many years. I can't imaging tent campers having a significant impact. That said, you do have to retain your gray water in your RV. Some people try to be sneaky and let their valves slowly drip into the soil, but it's going to make a mess as it's constant. A soggy campsite and the potential for erosion on the pad aren't a nice welcome for the next camper pulling through or backing in! :R

RE: Macerator - The Accessory that should be standard

I don't know for sure but think that the Thor ACE comes standard with a macerator pump and there have been several posts on this and other forums with folks having issues with them. How do they handle those cleaning wipes that don't break down?

RE: Not allowed to dump gray water??

Most every campground I have been to does not allow dumping of gray water. Even tent campers at some are supposed to collect it and dump it at the dump station. Many of us have a portable "Gray" tank. You dump your gray into to the portable then tote the tank to the dump station and empty it. Most campground owners and state parks will ask you to leave if they see you dumping or draining gray water at the campsite. Gray water regardless of what some may say is not sanitary. No one wants to come behind you and see soap suds, food bits, and who knows what else on the campsite.
