Go to any hardware store and buy a regular brass compression tee. Polybutylene originally came w/aluminum crimp rings which failed with expansion & contraction. Next they used copper crimp rings which worked fine until they went to compression fittings. You don't need Flair-it fittings. Flair-it was designed for use with Wirsbo pipe which requires an expansion or flairing tool to expand the pipe, hence the name flair-it. Flair-it works fine on all plastic pipes ie: wirsbo.pex,plumb-pex,or polybutylene, however it won't work on copper or metallic piping. Hope this answers your question.

I have a problem with poly tubing that is similar to the one femuse has, except instead of water leaking at the fitting, it is leaking from a plastic cut-off valve. I got some advice from another forum but cannot find the repair parts. I went to Home Depot and some hardware stores but couldn't find a valve that would work with the poly tubing. I need an in-line water cut-off valve that the poly tubing will fit on. I would like to use stainless steel screw clamps if they will work. If anyone has made such a repair I would like to know how it was done. Thanks.
