Ever tryed this recipe :

Easy Peach Cobbler

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 cup milk
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 (15-16 oz.) can peaches (Light or Regular syrup)

Melt butter in bottom of 9 inch cake pan (round or square). Mix flour and sugar; add milk and mix until smooth. Pour into pan with butter. Pour can of peaches on top of the batter (juice and all). Bake at 375 until golden brown and center is firm (40 - 45 minutes). When almost done I like to put some Sugar and Cinnamon on the top and finish cooking.

This will be the best peach cobbler you can make and so easy. Only mess up two pans.

Now you know that a scoop or two of Vanilla Ice cream would do just nicely on top of the hot Peach cobbler.

A Real Easy Peach Cobbler

1 large can sliced peaches drained or 5 fresh peaches peeled and sliced
5 slices white bread, crusts trimmed
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
1 egg lightly beaten
1/2 cup margarine, melted
Preheat oven to 350, Butter 8x10 baking dish
Place Peaches in prepared dish. Cut each slice of bread into five fingers, and lay the fingers over the peaches. In a medium bowl, combine, flour, egg, and butter and mix until well blended. Pour over bread and peaches.
Bake in preheated oven 35 to 45 minutes until golden.

I have divided the peach juice with the sugar so not to use so much sugar, and added more bread slices. Try it and you can be the judge. It is very good and you wont know the crust is light bread.

Sounds good. I usually make my dough at home with the modern appliances wrap in saran wrap and take with me, but I like the simplicity of this. Would work great in a dutch oven.

When camping, I make this cheater's peach crisp.

1 can peach pie filling
1 can lite sliced peaches
1/2 box of white cake mix
1/2 stick of butter.

Heat dutch oven over bottom coals.
Pour in pie filling and canned peaches. (do not drain peaches)
Mix well.
Sprinkle cake mix over the peaches.
Slice butter into pats and spread evenly over batter.
Put lid on DO and put coals on top.
Rotate lid 1/2 turn in 15 minutes and rotate DO 1/2 turn over bottom coals.
In another 15 minutes lift lid and check. If you smell it sooner, check sooner. When top is golden brown you are done.

While crisp is baking make homemade vanilla ice cream in hand crank maker. It is well worth the work.

I've made the peach DO cobbler too. except with just pie filling. It can be made just as well in the oven in a deep pan if you don't want to cook over the fire. Very simple, no mixing bowls to dirty, and any type of pie filling works great. Try cherry with German chocolate cake or any other combo you like.

We had ours warm with Cool Whip. Tasty!
