Greetings: Just returned from our trip around Lake Superior and the only problem was with the awning. Both handles(one on each arm) that contol how far you extend the awning gave up the ghost at the same time. Now they just kind of flap in the breeze and don't push in the little pin to retract or extend the awning. It looks like each handle is held on by 2 rivets. If I just drill out the old rivets and get myself 2 new handle assemblies and rivet these in......is that all there is to it? Has anyone else ran into this? This is the first time I've ever had this happen with any of my RVs and it's kinda weird both would go at once. Thanks for any help! BK
Yes, you can get the kit from your RV dealer. Just drill the old ones out and replace with the new ones. You will need a pop rivet gun and drill wiyh small bit.
Not an uncommon problem. The inner works is not a very heavy duty casting. Just replaced two on mine, took about 35 minutes. Dealer had the handle kits in stock.
