I'm looking to get a WW FK19 and tow it with a 05 Buick Reinier AWD, the car has a 5.3 V8 and shows it tow rated to 6500lbs. How do the short wheelbase SUVs handle the small lightweights? or am I looking for trouble?

you will hear of people doing what you want to do, and you will have people on this forum tell you not to do it, that your tow rig is too small.
anyway, by the time you load up your trailer with water, food, gear, quads, etc, you will be over your limit for towing. also, you tear your vehicle up.
IMHO, wait until you can get a bigger tow vehicle. I personally am looking for a diesel, and i also tow a 19, which is based on the one you are looking at. i tow with a tahoe, and you can definitely tell it is back there, as opposed to my friend's 2500 chevy dura/ally. it makes my tahoe look silly
Hi Steve and welcome to the Toy Hauler forum. I just read about the Rainier's features and it looks like a pretty fancy suv. If you're going to tow an Toy Hauler, even the lightest ones may be over the limit. If you're towing a travel trailer then a light one may be fine. Maybe go to the TOW VEHICLE forum and see if anyone there has a Rainier.

Well, 1st you need some magic beans, or dust or something. Then, you fill the sleigh with toys, and start hooking them up...wait, oh shoot. I thought this was "Towing with a Reindeer".

I was thinking the same thing.
Anyhow, I was pulling a stripped 20' Carson with a 3/4 ton gas truck, and it sucked. I also pulled it with a Dakota with v8 and tow pkg, that REALLY sucked. If you want your towing/camping experience to REALLY suck, then go for it, otherwise upgrade your TV.
saw a guy that fliped over with a F*rd Exploder because the trailer with a jeep on it pushed him side ways going down hill. I do know that in the wonderful world of tow rigs You Can Never Have Too Much (MORE IS BETTER). that is me though, I will never tow with anything other than a diesel. Just remember; just cuz you can get it moving doesn't mean you can stop it.
Good luck Rich

The Reinier is basicly a luxed out Trailblazer. I've added up all the stuff going into the rig and it totals out around 1000lbs under the combined gross listed on the door plaque so the weight isn't the issue, I'll be using a WD hitch w/ sway control and I'm wondering about stability and drivability, comments from people towing with short wheelbase SUVs
