One of these days when the weather is bad maybe I can make some time to break the page up into subpages so that it loads quicker -- I know that folks using modems would appreciate that. But it is quite a bit of work and also makes the maintenace more complicated because then I'd have multiple files to deal with instead of a single large file (a single large file is nice for quickly searching/replacing things when editing), so I've been dragging my heals.
I also plan to go through and compress the photos to a higher level -- I think with some work I can compress most of them down to about 50% of their current filesize without making the pictures any smaller on the screen. That would make the page load about twice as fast. That is something I could do a few at a time, so it wouldn't be too bad of a project. I'll start plugging away on that after Christmas.
