I will be travelling to San Diego on business, and
I'll probably be there a month.

I've done some searching on the internet and most RV parks
seem to be right in San Diego. I'll be working north of town,
out past the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, in the vicinity
of Mira Mesa Blvd.

I'd like to park the fifth-wheel somewhere in that area
if possible, or at least somewhere within reasonable
driving distance. Although I suspect rush-hour traffic
to and from work will be pretty bad no matter where I
stay.

Should there be any problem obtaining diesel fuel for the truck?

Thanks,

Santee Lakes. Then to get to work you come over the 52 to the 15 north. Not a real nice commute, but better than coming down from the north on the 15. There is a park up in Escondido, but that drive is killer each way. If you put the directions into Mapquest from Santee Lakes to Mira Mesa Blvd, you'd see its relatively close. But I can't Bs ya here, 52 gets crowded. My guess is you're 25-35 from 5th to work.

I really like the KOA and it has a great reputation for cleanliness. However, it is located in Chula Vista. I have toured the other RV parks and have stayed at quite a few and the only one that I like is the KOA.

It looks like Santee Lakes is within driving distance,
if the 35-45 you referred to in your post is minutes,
not miles. I can live with a commute of less than an
hour.

Now to see if I can get in for a month on such short
notice. And, I have to see if the company will re-imburse
a non-standard travel arrangement. But I'm saving them
a ton of money over buying a plane ticket, renting a car,
and staying in a hotel, so I don't know what they wouldn't
like.

Thanks very much for the quick replies.

Have a friend that recently stayed at www.santafepark.com right along side I-5 and north of I-8. This is a Passport America park and they were able to stay 10 days at the PA rate. Fairly close to Mira Mesa area. $540 to $640 a month.
