Looking for your recommendations or experience with portable 12v compressors. I want a unit that can "air up" air bags and tires. I have a dually so I need something with a little more than the dinky hose most of these things have. This is for extended trips primarily as I have a "real" compressor in my garage. What do you guys do or use?
Regards,
palmwhit
I like my truckair and it was under $40.00. Almost anything will air up the air bags as they have very little air. The truckair will take my 245 19.5 from 60 to 110 in about 30 minutes, it does need a good 20amps however.

Jim, at the TC vanguard, as usual. Cool solution, I must say. I like the fact that no power is needed.
How long does the tank last and how do you keep track of welding shops and fire extinguisher service shops, beverage distributors (Coke, Pepsi, Coors, etc.) and paintball supply shops for liquid CO2 refills? No problems refilling?

If I don't use the 15 pound tank to run any air tools,(I have used it to run a die grinder to cut off some rusted bolts) and just use it for tire pressures it will last a year or so to just keep the tires maintained. I haven't had to air down yet for the beach. It costs about 15 to 25$ to refill the tank at any of the places you listed. I should be able to air down to 25 psi and fill 6 tires to 90-110 Psi 3 to 6 times.
