I guess my question can't be answered. Can anyone direct me to
where I can get information on this inverter. I can't seem to
find anyplace on web for Phillips Power Inverters. It also gives
me a company on the unit that says B-W Manufacturers, Inc.
721 N Webster St. in Kakomo, Indiana but they aren't there in my
yellow pages. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks again

IF it say's B-W Manufacturers Inc. try this site. Look at what they show and see if your matches model numbers may be different.

That ParallaxPower site sure helped me! I've been looking for info on a B&W 3240 for awhile now. It seems the Magnetek name is woven into this story somehow. THANKS!

For your info...

It started as Phillips, then became Phillips/B-W Manufacturing then B-W Manufacturing where some changes were made in the line of the linear converters. B-W Manufacturing sold to Magnetek, and they basically changed the labels and added the Q series. Basic design and model numbers didn't change; but some parts were updated or changed. They bought the Triad Utrad ferroresonant line and basically kept those model numbers and added a new line and the electronic switching converters.

Parallax bought that and soon discontinued the linear and ferroresonant lines; but they still have support for them. They only sell the switching converters now.

That's how he got a Phillips schematic from Parallax.

I've learned a lot about them from posts on this forum from members; and I've got a B-W Mfg linear converter that does great (after I adjusted it for the correct charging voltage).

If you need parts try this website. They have alot of parts ect. for old converters along with a bunch of other stuff. I fixed my old B-W converter and it is working fine. Clost me $10. instead of buying a whole new converter. Might not be as hi-tech as the new ones but it does it's job. and if you spend the time to adjust them correctly they work just fine and won't blow your batt's.

From what I have gathered. B-W was bought by Parallax. Magnetek Is a manufacture of the actual bords used in these converter, I think.
