In the interest of simplicity, I decided to use the Bodiak front hitch. One of the easiest mods I have ever done. Maybe a half hour total time and only needed a 15/16 box end/open end wrench. It bolts on to the factory tow hooks.
Don't know that I really like the way it looks, but it will work for me.

When I put weight on mine, it sagged. Sent it back for refund.

Uh oh, do you know how much weight you had on it? I have the same generator as you and use to mount it, 10 gallons of gas and fire wood in the basket on my old setup. But that was with a hidden hitch mounted on the bottom.

The Bodiak hitck does not block the foglamps on my 2002 F-350. They dropped their prices $100 recently. It is well made and installs in a snap.
