OK, SH, is planned, and in the books. Let’s work on April. I’m talking the weekend of the 22-23rd. I have another small group that we have been going there with for the past 20 years +. We love running the central-eastern end of the dunes and regularly run HARD, mid-AM, and again mid afternoon. We love flopping over the razors, running the switchbacks, and have nicknamed one section, on the eastern end, “the freeway”, and if smooth, we will run it at close to 80 MPH+! We have strangers from other groups frequently join in on our freight train thru the dunes, and remark about how well we run the dunes. We usually do a 2 hour hard run, (w/ refreshment breaks in-between), which are a regular exercise. We DO, run safe, we break off, if another group has the line we’re intending to take, and we watch for stragglers, and circle back for those that have broken down. Campfires are wide open conversation, (after the kids are in bed), and this group would love to see the legend of the “SOBE” in action.
Nuff said? WHO’S IN?

Hi there DuneMe;
Bring it! You will never regret it! We run hard, but safe!
Watch this thread for updates. Look to the Spot-SH thread, also in the TH section for other attendee's, that may attend this one.
Hope to see you there!
I'll check with preggers, and see what we have planned. Although we aren't much for the sand, we were thinking about a dune trip this year.... I'll check back in soon...

It's WAYYY better w/o all the crazie's there on the holiday weekend's! You can run the dune's and almost not have to worry about encountering cross traffic!
Look forward to seeing you there. Stay tuned! Gary
toolman1, I'll try to make that weekend with my friends. We cancelled our last trip to Dumont, two weekends ago and I'm ready to go back out there. Our group was planning one more Dumont trip and one more Glamis trip before May. Some may have that weekend inked for Glamis, but I'll see if I can persuade them into Dumont.
I'll put it on my calendar....I have a season pass that I need to get my money out of, and I would like to see a SOBE torch in person. As far as running hard...I like to do that, but I'm not sure what 80 mph is like on the dunes. I've had the 1835cc in 4th flying...I wonder how fast that is!!

Guess we'll find out, huh?
Yeah....I guess we will.
If all works out well...I'll have a couple of buddies coming also.
