My race buddy and I are racing bikes 'Ironman' class in the Baja 500. We're heading down to Ensenada June 1st returning June 4th. The race begins Saturday morning 0600, and is roughly a 420 mile loop, starting and finishing in Ensenada. They give you 17 hours to finish, the pro bikes do it in about 8.5 SCORE Baja-500
We're paying for pit service through 'Baja Pits', which includes fuel and basic mechanical help at each pit. We've got one friend who will be driving the chase truck and providing us with small convieniences along the way. The three of us have a small apartment to stay in a few blocks from the start line.
I'm looking for anyone who is interested in coming along, in ANY capacity. You could help out if you wish, or just hang out and spectate/heckle. Just having someone you know at a pit stop to encourage you is priceless.
Unfortunately I cannot offer you accommodations with us as it is a friend's place, and VERY small. However...there are going to 8 pit locations, roughly 55 miles apart, and from what I understand you can deploy your trailer anywhere you see fit.
Not exactly a generous offer on my part, I know...but if you've ever wanted to go down there and see for yourself what it's all about, now's your chance. Let me know.
BTW...please tell Jamman he's a wuss for not racing along side us!

Sounds like fun! I just have issues with going to Mexico (long story to have over a few (ok many) beers and tequila shots). So, I wish you guys all the best of luck!!
