Nearly half of the total amount of water used annually in the U.S. goes to grow feed and provide drinking water for cattle and livestock.
In the US, 33% of all raw material consumption is used solely in the production of meat, egg, and dairy products.
The annual beef consumption of an average American family of four requires more than 260 gallons of fuel. The result is 2.5 tons of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere, or about as much as the average car over a six month period.
According to some estimates, supplying the entire world with a western, meat-centered diet would deplete the planet's oil reserves within ten years.

In 1890, George A. Bayle Jr. began to sell ground peanut paste as a vegetarian protein supplement for people with bad teeth.
It takes about 20 ounces of shelled peanuts to make 18 ounces of peanut butter.

In order to go by vehicle from Detroit, Michigan, to Windsor, Ontario, you have to drive DUE SOUTH, to cross the Ambassador bridge in to Canada, and of course Canadians who are going to Detroit have to drive DUE NORTH to get there from Windsor. Sounds wrong, but it is true.

The Ambassador Bridge is the busiest international border crossing IN THE WORLD.

The only international tunnel for automobiles runs from Detroit to Windsor, under the Detroit river.

About 40,000 men from what was then called British North America, now Canada, served in the Northern Army, during the American Civil War.

Why? They were being PAID by wealthy Americans, to take their place. The standard bounty was $400, and by coincidence, that amount was enough to buy a 100 acre farm lot in Canada. The expression "he bought the farm " comes from that time period, meaning that the guy had been killed in action , and his heirs would be able to buy the farm, with the bounty money.
