Got a local rv shop that you can let it melt off in?
I bet they would do it for a small charge.

Just wait until you stop real hard. You can then clean it off your truck after it buries you.

I see UPS doubles pulling into SDF from all over the place with snow still on the roofs from wherever they picked up the load. Unless you're worried about the weight, I wouldn't clean it off.

I've read where some use a leaf blower to blow "light", "fluffy" snow off the roof.

I just moved to Wisconsin and saw on the news where it is actually against the law to drive a vehicle with snow on it in the state of Wisconsin. Its not really strictly enforced though from the looks of it. The news inteviewed some truckers and the response was, "there wasn't a lot that the truckers could do about it."

They showed a clip where a sheet came off of a tractor trailer and smashed the windshield of the passenger car that was behind the trailer.

I have seen a Minnesota State Trooper pull a tractor trailer over for having a huge snow drift on top of his trailer. He was braodcasting it on CB about 5 minutes after he got pulled over. I had been about 1/2 mile behind him when it happened.

I am in N.W. Ohio and have about 3 inch's of ice under snow on mine.
I dont know how I would get it off.
Maybe take it to a service center and have some maint. done, wheel bearings, brakes looked at and adjusted and let it thaw out there.
Good luck in what ever you do.

I'm having the same problem. We are leaving day after Christmas delivering a trailer to Orlando. I am going to try and get some off but have to be careful you don't damage anything on the roof because it is so cold.

Going to leave michigan christmas day to Florida. Right now there is at least 10 inches of snow on the roof . Do I need to get that off, or just let the snow fly while towing?

UPS actually advertises that they leave the snow on their trucks:

We go down to Florida but not until late January. I sweep the snow off with a broom as much as possible. If there is ice under the snow, then there is not much you can do without damaging the roof. I usually bring our unit out of storage about a week before we leave and park it in our driveway. While here I keep it heated and that clears most of the snow and ice off.
