I have an F350 Crew Cab SRW PS diesel with 27,000 miles on it. It was
built in June of 2006. It has 18" Continental tires on it and they
are very badly Dry Rotted to where I have to replace them. Ford says
the will refund me 30% on warrenty but I have to replace them with
the same brand of Continental tire. If I want to replace them with another brand I don't get anything back under warrenty. Has anyone
else had this problem with their Continental Tires.
I was thinking of replacing them with Cooper ATR Tires. Anyone have
any ideas. I was quoted a price of $192.00 + Tax Per Tire? Is
that a fair price for a 275 70 R18 tire. They said they would mount
and balance at no charge. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I bought a couple of 225/70-19.5" tires today for my F-450 at work.
Paid $170.00 per tire (pre tax). 12ply, 3400#+or- load rating.

Go to Tirerack.com and check the price of tires on their website. They will ship them to you AND give you a few listings of their certified tire installers in your area.
It may save you some money, even with shipping. The funny part is some of their certified installers are the same tire dealers you may have gotten your quotes from in your area.
My local dealer wanted $195 per tire. Tire rack sold them to me for $125 each.

Check your prices closely, warranty adjustments are usually made on full retail pricing. So 30% off full retail price may be more than paying a discounted price on the same or at better tire.

45000 miles and counting on my ATR coopers on truck in sig, i will get at least 80 out of them, at least. where i come from farming community, Pest control advisors and fertilizer salesmen put 50-90K a year on pickups, and i have heard and seen these Cooper ATR tires going 90K with proper rotation and alignment. Im thrilled with they way they perform, they are 10ply load range E tires, and they do well with my fifth wheel i would recommend them to anyone, including GOD.
I have people ask me all the time if they are brand new, thats how beautiful they still look at 45K
I think that is fair, i want to say i payed 765 for mine, and they are LT265/70/17E 191.25$/tire and i would pay that again for them.

Conti's are a very basic tire. They are terrible on snow and wet roads and are the cheapest tire Ford can find that buyers will accept. My 2 cents. They came with mine also (built on 7/4/2005) and I took them off and threw them away. Get some GY AT/S or similar quality tires, negotiate a good deal, and forget about them.

My '05 2500 Dodge came with BF Goodrich LT265 70R 17 E and went 19000 miles, Cooper LT265 70R 17E 42K and still had some left, Maxxis 265 70R D Bighorn radials went 14K when traded for a 2008 Dodge which came with Michelins which we will see.
