I'm considering buying a new or nearly new TC.. I would be carrying it on a 2009 F350 diesel dually, long bed, that is "camper ready", length not a problem. I prefer a dry bath and slides are essential and I would also install a generator. What would you buy?
Paw Paw you've got the truck capable of carrying most of the campers available. I would suggest going to truckcampermagazine.com and clicking on all the links. It's a great time to buy from the stand point of deals, however selection is limited with the slowdown.
My personal favorites are Host, Lance and Eagle Cap. Each make great campers with plenty of dry bath options.
You should get plenty of input on this thread.

My camper, fully loaded, is an 11 1/2' heavy sucker with 1 slide, a dry bath and onboard generator. It's all my F-350 dually can handle GVWR-wise. For occasional camping trips, the length is fine. However, the camper serves as a mobile office, motel, and restaurant and is on the truck 50% of the time. With 35k miles and 200+ nights a year, shorter and lighter with the same features sure would be appreciated.
I can only offer an opinion on Lance campers having owned three. Our first was an 835. Easy to carry, but almost impossible with two adults, two kids and a dog, especially when it rained. Our second was a 981.Only a little longer, but with the slide it offered a huge advantage spacewise. Now we have an 1181 that we bought to replace the 981 after an accident. The 1181 is even more spacious but a real disadvantage is the special steps that would have to be taken to tow anything while carrying the camper. Overall, in my opinion the best mix of characteristics is the 981.
You have a new Lance dealer in Fort Worth Texas. Western Campers. Do your self a favor and go see as many as you can. Western has a slide model in stock right now. Deal with someone closes so you can get service if you need it. I just got through dealing with Tim on a new 1040. They are new and trying hard to please the customer.
