Family and I are heading to Texas this June from PA and want to stay in the St Louis area as we want to take a side trip to see the arch with the kids. We want an easy on / easy off but close to downtown campground. Has anyone stayed at Cahokia RV Parque and is it a good place for an overnight stay? Any other recommendations in that area? Thanks for your help!
If its for 1-2 days I'd try to stay at the Casino Queen RV park area. Its right across the river from the St Louis Arch and can take the metro link (train) back and forth across the river.
Cahokia Rv park is not the classiest place around and not in a great area.
Another possibility is the Red Barn Rendezvous RV Park in IL. Tidy & clean, easy on/off from I-55, maybe 20 minutes to St Louis downtown. Not a lot of stuff for kids, but a country atmosphere (not a "rough area") and pleasant.
