Hi: To start with you had better get it for next to nothing. It is still a sound looking camper. Did they put the fire out with water? That could be another concern if it was not dried out quickly. Working with guys that do fire restoration work I have seen a lot of things fixed. It is possible to do with the chemicals they have on the market today for cleaning smoke as well as painting over it with special paint. I would think you would have to paint over all the white panel surfaces, I don't think cleaners would remove all the smell. All fabric would be a throw away. The styrofoam insulation it the roof could have melted in some areas. I would concider it at the right price as a good project. If you decide to do it the first thing to get would be a good resperator, as after smoke can be very hard on you. Next question is that it appears like the fire started at the microwave? Do you have any details on it?
good luck
Mike

You will need to completely gut the the interior and probably replace all the paneling and maybe the insulation?

As you know smoke permeates everything- every been in smokers vehicle?? I'm a former smoker and smoked in my truck and I'm still trying to fumigate it

I think I would pass on that project- even if I had all the time in world. The camper will likely never be completely free of the odor.

It might be possible to swap odors. Kat bought some biodegradeable raspberry shampoo to put in the dispenser in the bath and it sure smells nice in there now.

Is this Lance worth fixing??? Slide works, generator works...some of the cabinets need trim work....Needs new freezer door.....What do you guys think?

Judging by the pictures, I think your looking at more than a new freezer door and some trimwork on the cabinets. Its probably over what I would recommend the average do-it-yourselfer try to attempt, but if your carpentry skills are up to the task and the price is right, it could be a good way to work your way into a camper.

If you get it for free I would say yes. It will require a lot of work though, but it looks like the structure is ok. I am amazed that they saved it, these things normally go up so fast, especially from what looks like a stove top fire. I would say that all of the softgoods would need replacing and that the rest would have to be sealed and painted, instead of being wood.

Do not pay more than $500, tops.
Looks like 2 months work of tedious labor to fix it.

Even if i was "above average when it comes to repairing and tinkering," and the price was right (free), I would still pass on this project.

Hi; I see you have added the cost and the cause of the fire, they are dreaming if they think they can get that much for it. Do you know the year of it so that I could check for a recall on mine if required
Thanks
Mike
