Looks like rust, sand and very little lubrication here Picture 7 on Picasa

This looks like a lubrication related failure. Picture 1 on Picasa

There is no rust anywhere on the slide rails, not sure why that is so hard to understand, they had been lubed at the beginning of this trip. Yes, the rails have some sand/dust on them, that happens when you follow Pullrites recommendation to use lithium grease and then encounter windy dusty conditions.

I posted pictures of the rails as they were after the failure and then cleaned them off so they could see the condition of them and took more pictures. I am not trying to hide anything, these were lubed according to their recommendations. If they want to publicly say that these aren't good for any dusty conditions that rules out any use for what I and every other toy hauler I know uses them for.

The roller looks worn and rusted out, which is unnerving to see, and I believe that they're not field serviceable????
It also looks IMO that the hitch is not resting over the axles in the home position?, but perhaps it's the angle of the picture.
Judging by the trail of grease, the plate did extend towards the 90 degree point of travel, which if that were the case the procedure is to un-hitch and move the TV toward the 16 degree position to re-hitch.
I live in a cul-de-sac, which requires me to make some angle maneuvers to park my 33' TH in the side yard, but judging by the grease trail, I've never had it pass beyond ~45 degrees.
Pls keep us posted on Pullrite's responds to this issue.

The hitch uses Pullrites brackets made specifically for this truck so I can say it is in the right position.
The trail of grease is probably misleading as we moved the hitch back and forth by hand before taking the pictures. At no point did he hitch up at any severe angle so I don't follow your comments about that, we had traveled 80+ miles that day before this had happened.

Hey OC
- not trying to fight here or even argue -just an observation from the posted pics. I looked at all of them even zoomed in.
Pullrite gives two options for lubrication -choice is on the owner but choice should be made based on operating conditions at hand. Not sure if this owner purchased new or used or how good their "dealer" was. Lots of unknowns except your pictures.

The manual states that when you hitch the TV, relative the the pin box, the angle of the TV should not exceed 16 degrees.
I believe that if you do exceed the 16 degrees that it is not possible to fully lock the locking mechanism because the hitch is in one of the forward travel position slots and not up against the rear stop.
