Well I just want to say a personal thank you to all you fine friends for your off the chart responses. Truly, you folks are the best and I look forward to camping with any and all possible friends at some point in time. That would be the creme de la creme for Mrs. Whazoo and I and the real bonus for being involved with rv.net. Maybe next year we'll make it to some tc jamboree somewhere. In the meantime...it's not so bad being a worm, it's the craving for eating dirt that I have problems with. Now if you'll excuse me I have to eat dinner. I'm not sure if it'll be that ol hard caliche again or if Mrs. Whazoo brought me some nice soft top soil tonight.

Ummm, Whazoo. About meeting you in the southwest for some hiking, I don't think we can make it. You're too nuts for even me.
Just kidding, but do you have some, shall we say, easier hikes.
I sense trouble brewing for the FarcticOxes.

Aha, trouble brewing...I get it. That's a good one there Farctic, as you must be talking about our upcoming cowboy coffee grind-out. And you bet, I'm definitely in the mood for an easier hike. In fact, if your daypack feels a bit heavy, I was going to sneak a 6 pack in there when you weren't looking, a surprise kind of thing! But now I've gone and blown it, I'll come up with something else.
See ya soon!

You did do a truly fantastic job again. Looks like great fun. I see you took the Tanner trail down and then the Beamer trail. Was it a loop or just down and back the same trail? Did you have to reserve campsites on the hike or is that part of the canyon just open to backpack camping anywhere. The only parts I have hiked are South Kaibab down and Bright Angel back up and North Kaibab down and Bright Angel back out. Guess I need to buy a good hiking map of the canyon. Looks like a great hike.

Hi Larry, How's things?
Did you do your trip yet?? Figure to get some tips from you now. And yes, Tanner and Beamer in & out. Most definitely need a permit and itinerary as to general "use" areas you'll be camping in, but not specific campsites as there are none. Just wish it had been cooler temps!

Maybe your handle should be Mr. Pica...
By the way, thanks for sharing the pics...It's nice to see what's down there since I won't personally be making that trek...

Thanks for the info Dave. No, I'm leaving next week on my trip. I'll try and post to my blog as I go. Looking forward to getting away.

Dave:
Lean closer to the screen, got a secret for you.
Is FarcticOx listening??? No?? Good.
Just, as you walk along, say, "Hey pardner, your packs out of adjustment. Let me help!"
Then be a good friend and adjust, while you slip a small rock or two in there each time.
You can lean back from the screen now.
