I carry a small step stool with me in the trailer. Our HTT is a bunkhouse and my daughter uses it to get into the top bunk bed. That is what I use. When my son is with us, we each stand on something and have no problem tucking and attaching the pug. I've done it myself, but that requires moving back and forth from side to side. We've installed it both with the tent end set up and before the frame is set up. I've also climbed on the open bunk door (carefully) and attached it that way before pushing up the frame. I don't have a great picture of it, but I did find one that you can sort of see. I'll try to get a better shot over the weekend.

Are those popupgizmos or sportsmen blankets I use the sportsmen tthat I purchased from campmor.com and have to say, they look EXACTLY like your photos when installed. So what does make gizmos so special? I paid $11.99 for two of the blankets.

I've been wondering the same thing. Probably that they are custom-sized for the bunkends on your trailer. And all of the holes are grometted(sp?). I've been looking at ordering the sportsman blankets and saving some money myself.

A question have for everyone. Is the pop up gizmo really worth the money. Does it make a significant difference that it is worth the money? It seems that most people like them, what is the biggest benefit? I value everyone's opinion so I would appreciate your thoughts.

Are they worth the money? Yes. And Yes to the second question also. We live in North Texas and in the summer months we usually camp when temps are in the 90's and sometimes above 100. Without the Popup Gizmos our A/C ran constanly during the day and this with the bunk ends closed off with the curtains. The Gizmos have allowed us to be comfortable and the A/C to function properly. We haven't had the opportunity to test them out in cold weather, but have heard many testamonies that they work as well to shield from the cold by keeping the heat in. Secondly, they also protect your canvas, both from the elements and the sap and dirt. They have been a very good Investment

If you have felt the inside top canvas of one of the bunkends sitting in the sun and compare it to the same after putting on the PUGS you will notice a world of difference.

Here is how I got them. Tug them under the trailer frame on top, so no rain or wind can get under.

I also slide them back and forth to get them tucked at the top. With a little practice, it works pretty well. I also carry a step stool to reach- in case I put them on when we are already set up.

As far a gizmos vs. sportsmen blankets: They are the same thing, but I did not want to screw around trying to make my own. They come sized and ready to go from pup gizmos specifically for you trailer. With nice clamps too. Convenience at a price, I suppose.

Yes, they do work well in hot and cold. Sometimes both in one day in MN. LOL

Did we get them on correctly?

Is it possible to get a clip at the top in the middle?

Just to double check, when its warm out put the silver side out and when its cold out keep the silver side down, right?

I just ordered them and Bob (From PUG) told me they have revised the instructions, they now say to have silver side out all the time.

For the OP, I don't clip them to the gutter either, just the sides. In the front bung the cord goes around the jack handle, for the side/back, I just wrap it upder the bunk door, has yet to move. I use 5 clips per side, none on top.

Yes, Yes, 4 bennies... 1)Eliminates or limits condensation, 2)makes it much darker in the a.m. (can be a con too), 3)warmer, 4) keeps tenting clean.

I like the factory look, time saved from making them was worth the $$ to me, which is rarely the case. FYI, before I bought them, I tried an ordinay blue tarp to see if I wanted them, worked exactly the same, just looked trashy. So there really is no reason to spend the $ if you don't want to, you can certainly get the benifit of them in much cheaper ways.
