We are looking for recommendations for a nice RV park for 3 months (Dec/Jan/Feb) in the Surprise/El Mirage AZ area near Sun City. I have looked at Sunflower which is a Cal Am resort but have conflicting reports good and not so good. We have stayed at Canyon Vista 2 years ago and we liked it there but want to be on the other side of Phoenix this time.
People have recommended Paradise Rv resort which is an ELS park but have had problems with these properties in the past with poor electric/ammenities/ up keep etc. Since we want to stay 3 months, we want a nice park which has strong electric (50 amp), good size lots in order to park your car with a cement pad beside the MH. We want telephone service and WI-FI service if possible but are getting used to having to go to the main building for proper signal strength but should be available.
We are prepared to pay a rate with the ammenties and nice sites but not the rates of Outdoor Resorts type accomodation. We are looking to pay up to $750.00/month including everything/electricity on the 3 month stay.
Could we ask for some recommendations from your past experiences/vists in order for us to make a decision?
Thanks but I'm a regular on RV Park Reviews but am looking for people who have actually stayed at or have visited particular parks. When we are committing for 3 months, I would prefer to hear first hand reports if possible so we are not taken off guard when we arrive there. It would be a real pain if we had to start looking for another park if we didn't like it.
My parents used to snowbird at Sunflower Resort in Surprise, AZ.
I visited them two years ago with my 5th wheel and rented a space there for a month. You could get in touch with them.
You might check out Pueblo El Mirage(Roberts Resorts). I stayed there a month last year, and they had nice facilities, lots of activities. I wasn't in one of their 'regular' sites so can only say there didn't seem to be a problem with MHs and toads fitting in the sites.
We stayed at Pueblo El Mirage last year for about 6 weeks. During our stay we flew home for Christmas and stored our coach and toad there. Very nice park with a golf course and restaurant on the premises. They try to keep the RV'ers together. The only negative we had was the jet noise from time to time. There's an Air Force base near by and they were practicing a lot! I would still go back again. We left there the second week in January. I have some pictures from there. If you would like to see them, send me a PM.
