I have the thetford model# N611 and if you go back to the second page of this thread posted a picture of my setup and I have a detailed description of which wires to splice into.

Fine, but what Model Year is your N611? Is it, like mine, a 2008MY or later? If so, please reference the Norcold link I provided, "select the Owner Manual -- Current" --- take a look at the schematics and then ... because I'm a little slow ... tell me if I need to modify any of your instructions.
Here is a shot of the wiring of my set-up. Again, I can find power ONLY when the door is open, but not shut (which, makes no sense). No power from either B/W wire. Please note, my 2008+ unit does not have the 'black' wire.

Mine looks like yours. I just cut the red wire... I turned the fridge off, then put my little beeper thing to see which wire was hot. It was the red on in the left lower corner. I cut that one and put the fan to it. Works great. Sure, I have to take the alligator clip off the fins when not in use, but that is no big deal to me.
Hope this helps.

I have not been able to find a wire that stays hot once the door is closed. I have sent Richard/eBay'er the wiring diagram from Norcold and he is really trying to help make it work. Anyone here able to take a look at the diagrams Norcold N61 (maybe power will have to come from the door (?) and advise how to successfully install this fan to run with the door shut? Much appreciated.
Why pay $14 for this fan on ebay when it is the exact same item as THIS ONE at newegg for $3.99? It is just a HDD fan.
I wonder if Richard is buying his Fridge fan here, then re-selling them on E-Bay. Would make a nice profit. Any way, I wish I could have fround the site for $3.99. But for as great as theses fans do work, I'm stil a Happy Camper anyways. As these Fans are a much better product than those cheap 2 D Battery operated fans that Camping World sells. And if you all have noticed on these Fans. All of the air being moved comes out the back of the Fans, to keep the Fridge Fins from Icing Up. I would souppose that either the top or the bottom install would work just as well. Myself, I installed ours on top, to make darn sure that the Fins don't ice over or the Fridge doesn't stay very cold. There's plenty of air left over after blowing on the Fridge Fins, to move the air to the bottom of the Fridge also. Nice find there Bob. "On note", after looking much closer at both fans, the one that Richard on E-Bay is selliing is very close to the $3.99 Fan. But it is not an exact copy. At least my Fan isn't. Richards Fan doesn't have an electrial plug-in Clip. And the $3.00 Fan doesn't have a Gator clip to hold the Fan unit to the Fridges Fins. Good Luck. Happy Camping. Dan & Jill

Yes, mine is different than yours, I have a solid black instead of black w/white. Now you said that it only has power when the door is open not closed BUT, are you checking this while the fridge is running?? I ask this because mine will also run with the door open IF the fridge is shut off.
hope this helps

After reading this thread maybe I just got lucky .. It took me about 5 minutes to install the Ebay fan in my Dometic - tried it one way and it worked 24/7 (whether the fridge was on or not) - tried it another way and it only works when the fridge is on (doesn't give a rip about whether the door is open or not). In my mind that/s the way it should work.
I installed the Fan from E-Bay in only about 3 seconds. My Domestic Fridge, doesn't have a light kit in it, but there is a rubber plug, with two tiney holes in it. To plug-in a light kit. I testd it, and the hole on the right is hot all of the time. The Fridge was turned off. There is also no door switch to turn off the light kit if one was installed. I think my unit was made to run the light full time, as long as the fridge was running. If a light kit was installed, and the Fridge was runing, it sure must be a very small draw on the battries. The only thing I had to do was clip the fan unit to the Fridge's Fins, and just twist the bare wire on the only wire on the fan, and push it in, Presto, it works perfectly. The instructions say not to leave it mounted durning traveling. But I hooked mine up for travel also, so it wouldn't come off. So all I ever need to do, is just plug-in the wire and I'm good to go. Guess I really got Lucky. Good Luck. Happy Camping. Dan & Jill
I have a Norcold, like above poster, no door switch but lite is activated by magnet. I have power on one side of the light when the door is open (for the light, that is a good thing) I have power on the other side of the buld that is hot when the door is shut (that is good for the fan) but, that side stays hot when the fridge is powered off? I am stumped! Anyone have any ideas?

I would like to know how your getting this Fan from NEWEGG for $3.99 ???? I was going to buy a extra , but if you include the $5.99 shipping and handling this is $9.98.I bought this ready to go off ebay for $13.99 + $2.50 shipping and had it installed 3 to 4 minutes. Not 3 hours being Bob the fan builder. The battery powered fan I had before this one would not blow out a match,( I tried to ) I just think these ebay fans are worth the pocket jingle. I just bought 4 more for my camping buddies.
