Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Doug and currently reside on Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. I'm a former Air Force Staff Sergeant and am enjoying the beauty of this State.
Ok enough of that....I just bought my first "camper" today. It's an old Rocky Mountain slide in camper. Very basic...has a small heater, 2 burner stove and that's it. It needs a lot of TLC. Has some water damage and needs some metal work, but for $150.00 I couldn't pass it up. I was going to build my own camper but seen this one and it was perfect. It's 6' wide, 8' long and 41/2' tall. I have no idea how to do the electrical/gas stuff but it can't be that hard. I also plan on putting in a portable toilet, for the wife. And the main thing is to get it water tight and painted so it doesn't look so bad on my 2007 GMC 2500HD. lol

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Can't beat $150.00. I think the propane tank is almost worth that.

Why build a portable toilet for the wife when you can get one of these. Come on, you know you want to!

Cheers

Well you do have some sheetmetal work in store for you,
Are you going to get some turn buckles for tie downs, so you will be able to open that door and take off that tie down. then go to a RV store and get a porta potty they work great for confined spaces and hold almost 5 gals of waist before they have to be dumped. you should have many days of fun camping up there in Alaska.

Hey Doug-
I'm just down the road from you on the Kenai. You'll enjoy your camper.
I don't have a toilet in my either, but when boondocking I use one of these with a Portapotti:www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pro........ntType=index&indexId=cat20097&hasJS=true

LOL yeah yeah well the strap was justto get home. Thanks for all the warm welcoms and all the toilet tips. I do plan on putting tie downs on it but right now the wood is so rotten there is no place to attach them. Also need some better jacks, the two that came with it are a bit unsafe. Overall the only thing I think will give me some difficulties is hooking up some electrical and replumbing all the gas lines.
