FMCA lists only the Equinox Sport not just the Equinox. Is there a difference? Can you tow the "plain" Equinox four-down?

When we started our search for a toad the Equinox Sport was on our list. We were told that the transmission (6 speed automatic) is the reason the Sport is towable and the LT or LS models are not.
