Are there any snowbirds that live on the east coast heading to the RGV for the winter? If so, are you interested in traveling with another rv? First time going alone in my 5th wheel and would feel better if had another couple to follow.

Its easy, take the closest interstate east to the DFW area. Just outside Denton, I-35 will split into I-35E and I-35 W. Take I-35 west thru Ft Worth, just south of Ft. Worth it rejoins I-35E and try to avoid rush hour. From there, its straight south on I-35 to Harlingen TX.

We overnight in San Antonio at Lake Braunig RV park, which is a good stop with an easy drive into the RGV the following day.

I don't think she's worried about directions. It looks like it will be she and her dog traveling alone, and she's looking to caravan for some security. Sorry Gloria, but we're not going to the valley this winter, but I'm sure someone will be interested in teaming up. Why don't you let folks know approximately when you wanted to head down, or are you flexible on your travel dates?

I just ran across this site, RVingWomen.org, and it looks like it has some forums and travel info you may be interested in. Looks like you might be able to hook up with some other snowbirds for a caravan through this site as well.

We also will be headed to the RGV, leaving from Hershey PA in a little more than one week. We will be taking our time, stopping in Pigeon Forge, Ft. Worth and Houston prior to arriving in the Valley mid-October...if interested in tagging along contact me at kakampers@yahoo.com.

Hi, I am from the Northeast also, and it would be my first time going south solo for the winter months. Where are you from? And when are you planning to leave to go south? I am not sure when and if I am going to do it, but I have been wanting to so much. I would feel more comfortable also following someone or vice versa. Just having someone else with you would be great.
