Tim and Julie, we are in west Santa Rosa and try to get to the coast when we can. We started out having our first Thanksgiving on the road about 5 years ago in Olema. We actually walked to the Inn for a nice dinner. I ran into John and Marcelle out at the coast a few years ago at Dillon Beach (an RV Woodstock) and we have traveled with them and met other north bay friends on some fun trips. A funny story with Dillon Beach...I ducked out of work for a few hours on a Friday and planted the trailer on a nice site with only 1 trailer as our neighbor. Sure that my wife would approve the site and my good instincts, we awoke Saturday to find I was next to a "rv gift shop". They hand-crafted (read hot glue stick) shells and rocks to things and scratched out summer change. As was my good fortune, they were closing shop and there was a huge sale going on. I think that is when I met John...on one of my many walks away from the sales.

Tim/Julie, come on over, can't miss us as 3 of us will have Cedar Creek's
Bring some food and booze, and we'll let you in. I remember when Butch first came, we had beer for an army. I believe he only came to the Clearlake rally since we were at his favorite boat launch campsite
Now, he is our biggest rallier, and our best BBQ King (Spam hat and all)

I met Doug (and also LoboPrincessa/Ramon) at Olema in 2005?
Met Christine and Dave at Cassinni's.
I think I first met Mike/Kellie when they still had his Cougar trailer at Doran, may have also met him at Dillon too. they came to the Thanksgiving rally at Jackson last year, and our Yosemite rally. Great folks, HOT DAMN (inside joke).

Dillon was great back then, now with all the lawsuits and the county of Marin poling theirs nose into it, I haven't been back since the new restrictions went into place.
We still camp alone, but often it is with camping friends we have met here at the rallies.

We're looking forward to it!

We have only been to Casini and Alexander Valley so far, we just made reservations for Doran for next year. We would definitely like to stay in Olema, Dillon and more. Any suggestions would be great too, its hard to find a good place on the internet because many of the websites are outdated and don't have very good photos if any, so I'm always asking others where they like to stay.

And speaking of Yosemite, I made reservations that I will probably end up canceling because I ended up finding many bad reviews after the fact. Can anyone suggest any nice places on this side of Yosemite? We are not experienced enough to even think about attempting the narrow roads and grades into Yosemite with our trailer so we are looking for places outside of the park. We are going the weekend of October 8-11.

Thanks again everyone! Any and all suggestions appreciated! :-)

Hey Mike, you might want to send Gottahaveit a PM, I think she missed your request. I know I did
"Gotta-sticky time (wish I could announce more names but)....."

Tim and Julie, we'll have plenty of time to talk at dinner about all the great campgrounds. And, we will learn what you like, some like resorts, others like roughing it, state parks, boon docking etc.

And Doug can share all his water misadventures with you, pictures too

Isn't Durango on the Sacramento River? I call that water, and someone did say they were fishing, that means fish hooks. Correct me if I am wrong. But watch out Doug.

We will be coming up early friday morning. We are going to spend Thanksgiving with Mom. Just want to know what we can bring for Fri. night dinner since we won't be there Thur.? Since Sat. night dinner sounds like it is taken care of, would you like me to bring sppetizers or dessert?

I bought it but Wrasle Castle hauls it!
