Has anyone been there during Thanksgivng week? I have the whole week off, so we could go early in the week. Just wondering how crowded it might be and if we'd have a problem getting a site early in the week without a reservation. I wouldn't mind making reservations, but am not crazy about the reserved area...would like to choose my own spot.
we headed down to South Toledo Bend the week after Christmas and were going to spend the night at Beavers Bend - it was full of Boy Scouts and no sites available - who would of thought! There are commercial campgrounds that are available if all else fails
Hello, I don't have an RV or trailor but saw your question on Beavers Bend at Thanksgiving. We went to Beaver's Bend last year for Thanksgiving. The park is very quite and beautiful at that time of year. There were campers there but not like summer months which I try to avoid. The Park Restaurant serves a great Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner from like 11a-3p. We only had to wait I'd say less than 10 minutes to be seated. Train wasn't running but we saw lots of wildlife and did a lot sightseeing. We are going back this year and other family members are going with us. Kids love it.
