Great pics,,,,love the mutt! My question is this,,,,did you try to eat the 72 oz steak at the Big Texan? If so,,,did you finish it under an hour and get it for free?

No way. We stopped ther last year and there was two guys trying to eat those 72 oz steaks. Neither one made it.
I think I got the country fried steak lunch special. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......good eatin'!
Looks like you had a great trip, we were in the same state at the same time this year. May be someday we will bump into each other on our travel. Nice trip report.

When I was posting pictures and comments from our (my wife and I) last long trip there were times that I felt that maybe I was sharing stuff that others wouldn't care about... well we are all different but TC people are special and I think they enjoy much more than many others.
I'd get a phone call, a PM, or an Email... happy that we'd posted meals or stretchs of highways.
Brads pictures of breakfast are an example...
60 years ago or more we'd go fishing or hunting and stay for days in tents. The things that I remeember best are the meals...
...fried eggs, bacon, fried potatoes... even bisquits made in a little oven that sat on top of the Colman stove burner.
... at lunch fried balony with thick slices of onion or ramps...
or sometimes fish for dinner... or a rabbit or squirrel... many times not.
When I see brads pictures I can remember the smells of the food and the special times that we had.... and the promise of good times in the future
Thanks again for sharing your trip with us Brad...

Great pictures Brad. Wife and I don't have a TC but have camped at 11 mile and Steamboat Lake numerous times. You really captured the beauty of those two lakes. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with seldomseensmith's comment re only being able to take one toy at a time. Since I cannot bear to go to Colorado without my ATV, we bought (but have not yet taken along)an Avon inflatable and a 9.9 hp Yamaha to take advantage of the beautiful lakes.
It doesn't look like we'll be able to head out West this Fall due to some unplanned, unavoidable health and other issues that arose.
BTW, Brad, did you remember (or know) to get that CO permit for your boat? (ATV's need one, too)

No longer true, Brad, that's why I brought it up. About three years ago (?), they followed Wyoming's lead (as I understand it) and now require that any out of state ATV or boat be registered with them.
Any boat with a motor or sail operated in Colorado on any public waters must be registered with Colorado State Parks.
To register your boat, complete the Boat Registration and return it to:
Colorado State Parks-Registration Unit
13787 S Highway 85
Littleton, CO 80125
If paying by credit card you may also fax the application to (303)470-0782.
You may also register your boat at many State Parks and offices; for a list of the nearest registration location, click here. Always call ahead to ensure services are available.
Registration Fees
The annual registration fees are determined by the length of the boat.
* Less than 20 feet in length - $25.25
* 20 fee to less than 30 feet - $30.25
* 30 feet or greater - $50.25
