I pull it with a 2007 1/2 ton Chevy with a 5.3 All I can say it that I fail to share the optimism some feel about how easy a Tacoma will pull this thing. You are talking about a trailer that is fairly tall, (I love the head room) will easily weigh 2-1/2 tons (lightly loaded) and is over 26' long. That, IMHO is on heck of a lot to ask out of a mid-sized Toyota, no matter how great the number's look on paper. I have my foot BURIED in the throttle to keep this thing in the 62-65 MPH range, and I know it's back there ever moment. BTW, I have pulled several trailers well over 100K miles in the last ten years, so I'm far from a greenhorn. YMMV, but I doubt you are going to have a satisfying, relaxing experience towing this combo. Great trailer BTW, ours is (so far) the best of several brands we have owned. In this case, I would demand a "test tow" before buying a trailer this size.
I can't comment on the Tacoma. But, I've towed my 25 ft 5000 lb+ Jayco with my 06 1/2 Ton Silverado with 5.3/3.73, and it's an easy tow. I've even run 75 when in a hurry and it's got plenty of reserve power. I even towed a 32 ft Jayco empty down to La. for FEMA after Katrina. If I hold my speed down I can even run in OD on the flats.

soren i dont think im wasting anything, im getting a great camper for a great price. My tv may not meet the standards of a full size chevy, ford ect. But im trying to do this all with a midsize in a SAFE manner with the camper i want.. I realize now its gonna be tough towing but i dont have a fullsize sittin on the side to tow with unfortunatly.. Im still trying to get a test tow and it will happen to give me piece of mind....
well finally got my 23 fb 3 days ago, did tow it home from dealer and next day took it to the bills football game about 30 miles roundtrip. Towed pretty well alittle underpowered at the line but did good overall. Heres a couple of picks. At bills game, good camping but terrible game..
Have you considered upgrades for your truck, such as a power tuner/programmer, cold air intake, and exhaust? These items will boost your trucks performance, and might make towing that new camper a little easier.
pyrate, ive got some upgrades done, like a flowmaster exhaust, air filter, and rear spring upgrades. The big test will come this weekend when we go to pennsylvania for a weekend trip, some decent hills and about 80 miles one way. I also run 93 octane gas to help alittle..
