Just moved into Arkansas,Hot Springs Village area, and would like to get suggestions on great areas for camping. I understand there are some State Parks that are awesome and Buffalo River and White River are other spots highly recommended. Anything within approx. 200 miles of Hot Springs. Like viewing nature, Golf, Mountains, Lakes/Rivers, Scenic Drives.
I am self contained but would prefer at least electric.
Lived in Arkansas a few years ago. As one who golfed a lot until the ole shoulder couldn't take it anymore, I remember seeing TV ads for the Natural State Golf Trail while living there. You might want to take that map, and look for RV parks near by.
I know that when I stayed in Pine Bluff that the RV park was right at the end of the Harbor Oaks Golf Course. I stayed there for a month, and it was like $300, included electric (30 amp), had no sewer but had a dump station. It is 2 miles back in what they call "Regional Park". Very quiet, and I talked to a few golfers who said the golf course was great, and I think they said they got weekly rates, or 4 day golfing rates.....something like that.
In looking over the map, I know there are RV parks fairly close to many of the golf courses on their map. Good luck with your new home....loved the Hot Springs area.....good luck golfing in 90+ degree weather with 90% humidity during the summer. (Or in other words, take advantage of the Spring and Fall golfing season, and many clubs give reduced rates in Winter.) --Dave

If you have not been there, you should visit Eureka Springs. Leaves are about to turn there very soon.
DeGray Lake State Park has good campgrounds and a state golf course - not far from you.
Lake Catherine State Park campground is nice and is near to you.
Lake Ouachita State Park Campground is very very nice also and very near to you.
Petit Jean State Campground is not very far and also I recommend it highly.
White Oak Lake State Campground is not far from you off I30 and is a great secret place to camp.
Your area is covered up with great camping and lakes and good golf courses.
Village Creek State Park is near Forrest City, Arkansas close to I40 - it has two small lakes, rental boats, good fishing, and nature trails..good camping sites also.
