Im thinking about adding a stereo system (Radio and 2 speakers) in my pup. Wondering if any of you have ever done this? And how did you wire up the stereo for power? Im thinking of installing everything right below the kitchen sink near the stove. I turned on my stove to feel how hot it gets under there and there is no heat in that area. What do you guys think?

Why go to so much trouble? I use a small boombox, which I keep on very low volume. A stereo means you like it loud? Most people camp to get away from the noise of the city. If you do put one in, keep it low!

WOW!! Thats has got to be the worst reply ive ever read!! Heres a few reasons why I dont want a boombox.
1. Tent trailer to small for a boombox.
2. I have 2 kids and dont need extra cords pluged into the outlets
3. I like things permanently put in (ex. I could also take an ice chest but i want a built in fridge instead)
4. I like it loud when at the desert!
If your going to reply with comments like the one above, please dont read my threads!

Get a car stereo and speakers. Cut holes. Mount best you can. Run wires to speakers (up to you to figure that out as we cannot see your setup). Run hot and ground to battery. Bingo! Stereo.

Get a car stereo and speakers. Don't forget to get an outside antenna and mount it someplace outside so you can run the cable in to the radio. Cut holes. Mount best you can. Run wires to speakers (up to you to figure that out as we cannot see your setup). Run hot and ground to battery. Bingo! Stereo.

I agree with Traywolf. We go camping to get away, not do the dame things we can do at home, teach your children outdoor games and go hiking.... I bought my camper to go camping with my grandchildren. This is waht they will remember, not that they missed thier songs!

WOW, it sure didn't look like the OP was looking for our approval or even opinions as to IF he should install a stereo. What's up people? Let's try to be less judgmental and simply provide answers to the questions posted....GEEEEZZZ
We never had one in our PUP but our friends have a one that came in their Fleetwood. And you know what.....they never blasted it so that it bothered other campers

Put it in. Be sure to have an inline fuse. Should already be included in the car stereo wiring harness.
Getting at places to hide the wiring for speakers isn't too hard.
Thisi s often an option for pups, plus lots of aftermarket mods.
And "dang!" At all of the nay-sayers. Please don't camp next to me and impose your approval system on the color of my tablecloth. I go camping to get away from...awwww, forget it. Falling on deaf ears (or not, as the case may be).

Wow! There's a few people in this forum that are brutal. I never asked for approval, just ideas as to where and how people have done it in the past. Anyhow, I do get the point about blasting music at a camp ground and I would never disturb any campers but sometimes you just want to play a little romantic Marvin Gaye after a hike with the old lady. But I'm glade to inform everyone that my two speakers and stereo are already in and it looks awsome. I will post some pictures up soon. It looks like a factory install. Thanks for the support from the two posters above this post!!

You could also get marine speakers for mounting on the exterior, and wire them to the "rear" outputs of the stereo. Use the fader to turn them on/off.
