I have a Skyline. No problems here either. Good TT and I've called the company to ask questions and talked to the guys in the plant. Very helpful! Good Luck....

2 plus years out of warranty, wow this is an amazing story. Thanks for sharing.
spadoctor wrote: I have owned 3 Nomads over the years and loved them. I had a major problem with the second one, the frame lost camber and caused the wall to crack at the door. The unit was 2 plus years out of warranty but the factory took it, removed the box from the frame, recambered and reenforced the frame, installed the box and repaired everything to new condition at NO CHARGE to me. If they had a floorplan we liked we would have bought a forth rig.
I've had two of them now - both Nomads... The first one was a 1999 Nomad 2700 front kitchen... darn near perfect TT and never had an issue with it...
The second one, my current 3150 was a "build disaster" from the factory... Many, many issues with just atrocious build quality from the factory in Elkhart, IN... It has taken me nearly 2 years to iron out all the issues, but we have a great dealer that stood behind us, so now, 3+ years later, all the major issues have been taken care of and it's a pretty nice trailer...
Skyline used to have a 2 year warranty which was one of the reasons I chose my Nomads - my 2006 was the last of the 2 year warranties - something you may want to consider when looking at these trailers...
The workmanship (or lack thereof) was terrible on my 2006 and I'm still finding things that I repair... This may have been an isolated incident, you know, the proverbial trailer built on a Friday before the holiday, but it soured me enough on the brand with all the problems I've had with it...
Because of this, if we were going to buy another TT, Skyline would NOT be on the short list due to all the issues I had with this one... Quite honestly, I don't know what I would look at, maybe none at all, or maybe buy another used one and just rebuild it and save a ton of money on the purchase... You hear horror stories with all brands and quite honestly, I've been doing this RV thing since the early 80's and not a heck of a lot has changed... Same poor quality over the last 30 years from all manufacturers...
So what ever you buy, it's pretty much a "toss of the dice" as to whether or not you get a good one or a bad one...
Anyway, my thoughts FWTW...

I just recently bought a new 2009 Nomad 260 a couple of months ago. Pretty good trailer. No issues.
I couldn't get a manufacturer brochure on this model from Skyline. I called them about the tanks holding capacity, etc. but they tell me it should be on a sticker in the cabinet. The only thing there was the mfr of the applicances.
From what I understand, it was made for a couple of years and discontinued so, I guess I have a collector's item now.

We have a 2008 32-6 layton Skyline we got in Feb 2008 and had problem last month & e-mail them to see if I could buy the part I needed from them and they sent it to me at no cost and they paid the freight. Steve
We live in a Skyline modular HOME with a full basement foundation....13 yrs now, and I can honestly say it's better than comparably sized stick-builts in our area. It looks more like a stick-built. Not a single problem in 13 yrs and we experience every kind of weather imaginable where we live. The only reason our TT is not a Skyline is because of the floor plans available when we bought and I could not convince my DW to change her mind on that (what a surprise.)

Happy with mine so far. They don't get a lot of attention because they are really pretty boring from a design standpoint as all of the focus is really on utility and simplicity. Given that their main business is mobile homes, they tend to just build utilitarian boxes on wheels. As I don't need a rolling fashion statement, I find the value for the $ to be very good.

I bought mine used. 3 yrs ago. The original owner did nothing for maintenance. didnt even have a spare tire.
I had one leak on the top corner that I used dicor on and its good.. cleaned and sealed the rest of the seams on the roof. tightened a few screws and it has been great. put on a new set of tires. regular stuff.
I would love to have a new one but there is nothing wrong with the one I got.
