Park is ok, not great, but not bad. Sites are narrow and short and there are a lot of park models with add ons around. There are not a lot of activities. Location is not bad, though Corpus Christi is not my favorite place. It is a working class city, with the naval air station, lots of petro chemical operations etc. It is not a resort city. There is not a lot to do unless you like cities. There are numerous chain restaurants etc. and a some good seafood restaurants out towards Padre Island. If you don't have a strong reason to stay in Corpus, I would move further down the valley. There is just more to do. As for the weather, it is not truely tropical, but generally fairly warm. You won't be playing in the surf and sunning yourself under a palm tree, it is not that kind of area. You can go out onto Parde Island, which is nicer, but still not really tropical. The gulf just isn't that warm in that area.

It's an older park with quite a few permanent residents and some sites are a bit tight. On the up side, however, the staff is great, the residents are very friendly and it's centrally located to almost anything you'd need.
Here are some pics of it to give you some idea:

The Corpus area is not as bad as westernrvparkowner paints it. The temp is relative. My DW wears shorts and T shirts all winter but some folks wear heavy winter coats. When a norther blows thru it gets down to 40's but then the sun comes back out and back up to 60's or 70's. If you want to be on the beach you should look at Port Aransas, there are many parks of verying sizes and prices, and then there is Padre Island National Seashore(a national park away from everything but the beach, no hookups, good restrooms and cold showers, if you are over 62 cost $4 a night in parking area or free on beach) one of my favorites. Lots of folks come down and look around for what they want, reservations are not required most of the time, there is about 400 miles of beach with parks in small towns and then there is the valley 150 miles south of CC area. IMHO you should take your first trip down to look it all over and find the portion of paridise you like best.
