No blood test on dogs... use a paper test strip and dog's urine...
I had to follow the dog around until she squatted to pee and then I used a sardine can stapled onto a yard stick to catch the urine ..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved. The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

My Father and his wife had a dog that his wife would feed Jelly Bell Jelly Beans to. The dog got Diabetes it was really funny to watch the "Wicked Witch of San Jose" running around after the little dog "Marty" trying to get a urine sample every morning.

Technically EVERYBODY is "insulin dependent"! Your body either supplies it or you have to take insulin via other methods. Without insulin you'll die, it simple.
And yes, insulin requires a prescription.

As far as my experience last week, no prescription is required, at least in California.
I was in a local drug store in Simi Valley and the pharmacist sold me a vial with no prescription required. The same thing at my local Walgreens.

As said, you can get insulin & supplies anywhere but whether your insurance company will reimburse you may be a question.
Joy there are some insulins that needs refrigerated some don't.
I use Novolin N that doesn't and it last until it runs out.
I also use Novolog Aspart it is required to be refrigerated and only last 23 days once it is opened.
At least that is what my doctor told me to do, makes it a pain to travel I have a small 12 volt cooler with a 120 volt powersupply
I order 3 bottles of N and 1 bottle of Aspart and I keep them in the fridge. I also keep the ones Im using in the fridge.
I get mine through the VA never tried OTC may do that just to see what gives.
